We first met at Thurmont Elementary School in May of 2015. Tyler was in his first year as a user support specialist and Leah had just graduated college and was a long term substitute. We were really shy around each other, and only said the occasional “hello” and “good morning” in the hallway. The next school year, Leah got hired as a 5th grade teacher at Thurmont Elementary. Everyone kept telling us that we would be a great couple, but we were both hesitant and just laughed it off. As the school year went on, Leah seemed to have more and more technical issues (which were completely valid, by the way), and that led to Tyler spending more and more time in her classroom. We first hung out over spring break that school year (2016), and went hiking. On the last day of school, we went out to dinner and went to see a movie. That summer, we finally became official, and the rest is history.

On November 26, 2018, Tyler asked Leah to marry him in her classroom after school. This classroom is the same one where we first met. It was so special for him to propose in the place that started it all.
