Our Wedding

How did we meet? The old fashioned way, on line! At the end of June 2021, I received a message from a (very cute) guy named Theodore. However, I decided to take my time, of which Theo still teases me about to this day. I found myself looking at his profile and his pictures almost daily and finally, 3 weeks later, I decided to respond to his message. We instantly connected, but because his account was going to expire, he boldly asked for my number. From there, we scheduled our first date for July 28th, 2021 and met in the "middle" in West Hartford where he suggested Bar Taco. I parked my car and walked toward the restaurant. I spotted this incredibly handsome and extremely tan man in a pink button down linen shirt from across the street. I knew from that point on, I was instantly smitten! Of course, in Theo fashion, he did not make reservations for dinner and we had an hour wait. We decided to walk the streets of West Hartford and engaged in conversation about our families. When we arrived back at the restaurant, we noticed it was packed! Not one open table in sight. Our conversation continued well into the night, so much so, that at one point we noticed that the restaurant was almost completely empty and the staff putting up chairs. As we left the restaurant, Theo walked me to my car where we had our first kiss. I knew when we said good night, I was saying good night to my future husband. 3 years later, we have enjoyed traveling all over the world, attending numerous concerts (I have lost count!) and experiencing many "firsts" together. It has been an amazing journey, and we cannot wait to see what the future has in store.

How it began...

I surprised Theo with tickets to see a live taping of a Sugar Shack session (which he has been dying to see!) in Bonita Springs, FL. The tickets weren't until the end of July but we decided to make a vacation out of this experience. We booked our flights and our hotel- at the brand new Margaritaville in Ft. Meyers. Little did I know, Theo had a surprise waiting for me. Theo did his research, and found a restaurant that sits right on the beach on Captiva Island, called the Mucky Duck, which is an English style pub. He discovered that they are known for their stunning sunsets, and if anyone knows Theo, knows he loves a good sunset. Our plan for Monday night was to have dinner at the Mucky Duck and watch the sunset. The day started off nice but mid-afternoon while we were relaxing in the pool a big downpour started. The rain started to slow down and we hopped in the car and through a light drizzle we began our journey to explore Sanibel Island, known for their sea shell lined beaches. We stopped at a few beaches to look for sea shells and eventually made our way to Captiva Island and the Mucky Duck. After dinner, Theo and I went out to enjoy as much of the sunset as we could - it was still a bit cloudy but the sun was starting to peek out a little bit. Before we did, Theo wanted to put all of our stuff in the car- but I still wanted to hold on to our umbrella as it was still misting. Theo kept insisting that we put the umbrella in the car, but I was insistent. We walked over to the beach and down to the water. The most beautiful thing happened right as we arrived- a pod of dolphins began swimming by. As everyone knows, I love dolphins! Right at that moment, Theo spun me around, took my umbrella and chucked it up the beach and started to get down on one knee. The man of my dreams was asking me to be his wife! I soon began to hear the flash of a camera and realized that Theo hired a hidden photographer named Candance to capture our beautiful moment. Just as our photo session ended, we turned around to see a beautiful rainbow form over us. A sign that Theo always attributes to his Dad being around.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hilton Garden Inn in Glastonbury for both Friday and Saturday night. Guests can either book 1 night or 2 nights depending on your travel schedule! For those flying in for the wedding Bradley Airport (BDL) in Hartford is the closest airport and about a 25 minute drive to the hotel. Bradley isn't the most convenient for International travel though, so for those flying internationally you may want to consider flying into Boston's Logan Airport (about 1 hour and 40 minute drive to the hotel), New York's JFK Airport (about 2 hours and 15 minutes drive from the hotel), or Newark's Liberty Airport (about 2 hours and 30 minutes drive from the hotel)

We love spending time down by the water in Connecticut and Mystic is one of our favorite places. There's some fun things to see there like Mystic Aquarium, Olde Mistake Village (for some shopping), and Mystic Seaport. The area by the drawbridge is a great area to hang out and enjoy some ice cream on a nice summer day. Make sure to check out Sift Bakery for great baked goods or S&amp;P Oyster for a nice seafood meal overlooking Mystic River, or Abbott's Lobster In the Rough for a classic Connecticut Lobster Roll. Mystic is about an hour drive from the hotel
