Our Story

Aesthetic

The Aesthetic of the wedding is heavily inspired by Rennaissance style art, oil paintings, Baroque design, vintage ornamentation, gold metals, and regency era fashion and design. It is my hope to decorate the wedding with fresh fruits, textured linens, and thrifted items for furniture, decor, and the table settings. The day after we got engaged, Ryan and I were trying to visualize what our dream wedding would look like. Ryan told me he sees a ceremony at sunset, possibly near a lake, and a dinner under twinkle lights with our favorite people. I was pleasantly surprised that he had it all figured out! I will never forget when he said that, it has been my goal to bring that to life for us. However, the sun sets super late in August, so that will be the only goal we do not achieve! Color Scheme

One of the first things I was sure about when visualizing our wedding was that I knew I wanted it to be multiple colors instead of the traditional 1-3 colors. This turned into a rather loose interpretation on color exploration for the wedding! Maybe it's my artists mind, I just don't want to limit anything! That being said, that doesn't mean I'll accept a lime green or a hot pink. I would describe this pallet as muted jewel tones. I wouldn't call it jewel toned because there is no bright emerald, striking turquoise, or bold fuschia! Rather, we took jewel tones and turned the saturation down on them, resulting in a muted outcome. If you wish to dress within the color scheme (everyone is welcome to!) I would just advise to avoid any extremely bright or vibrant colors. Feel free to wear any color in this arrangement or even wear its tint or shade (make it pastel or make it even moodier by going darker)! Or, if you'd like to wear whatever color you please (I'm looking at you lime green and hot pink), that's welcome too! Just as long as it's not white, of course!

Wedding Guest Attire - A Style Guide

Just in case you needed some visuals that illustrate the level of formality &amp; what a cocktail/semi-formal dress code actually looks like! Really, as long as it is of these standards or higher, anything goes! Don't panic thinking you need to perfectly replicate the photos! They are simply to help you visualize the standard of the dress code! A general rule of thumb that I absolutely live by is that it's better to be over dressed than under dressed! As long as you aren't wearing a casual sundress, jeans, or shorts, you will be okay! Remember, anything can be dressed up with the right accessories! Florals

I believe the flowers of a wedding describe the design intent and tie everything together! Therefore, I wanted to share the inspiration for my flowers with you, just to illustrate more detail about the wedding! The approach to the flowers will be similar to the color scheme, ultimately unlimited. I am more concerned with the composition of the arrangements rather than the actual flower types themselves. I am intrigued by atypical flowers. I would like for the arrangements to be whimsical, unique, diverse,&nbsp;wild, romantic, asymmetrical, and complimentary colors - light petals and dark petals, as well as warm colors and cool colors simultaneously!

We highly recommend the Lake House on Canandaigua! It is the nicest hotel around! Fun fact, it was designed by the firm that Leeann now works at, SWBR! The old boat suspended from the ceiling of the Sand Bar belonged to a now retired SWBR Architect who donated it to the project! The Lake House has won multiple national design awards!
