Q + A

How do I RSVP?

We will send out formal invitations including all invited guests, formal RSVPs, and dietary preferences/restrictions later this year. Please keep an eye out for those! We will need all RSVPs in to us by no later than three months before the wedding.

What is the dress code? Any colours we should wear or avoid?

The dress code is semi-formal or cocktail attire. We kindly ask that you avoid colours traditionally reserved for the Bride: whites, ivories, creams. Other than that, the world's your oyster! The general colour palette of our wedding is greens/neutrals/terracotta - there is zero requirement to wear any of these colours but if you'd like to fit the vibe you are more than welcome to use these as a jumping-off point!

Am I dressing for indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will be outside but the reception and dancing will both be indoors. So wear whatever will be most comfortable in varying temperatures inside/outside during late summer months.

What should I bring as a gift?

If you are open to it, we would GREATLY appreciate financial contributions towards our honeymoon in New Zealand in 2026 exploring where they filmed Lord of the Rings! There will be a card box where you'll be able to place your gifts. If you'd prefer to give a physical gift, we are registered at William Sonoma and their group of brands. You can search our names on their Canadian website to find it or you can find the link below.

Registry linked here.

Do I get a plus-one?

When we send out invitations, yours will be made out to "(Your Name) & Guest" if a plus one has been given to you. We have had to pare down numbers to the absolute most essential friends and family alongside us on the big day so plus-ones had to be limited. If you're pre-booking travel and would like to know whether you have been allotted a plus one, please reach out to us directly. Thank you for your understanding!

Is this a kid-friendly wedding?

We love and adore your little ones, however we have decided to keep our ceremony and reception an adults-only event with the exception of some close family. If you do have children that are not on your invitation specifically, we encourage you to use this as a fun date night or weekend away! We appreciate you making prior arrangements so you can celebrate with us.

What time should I arrive?

A time for the ceremony will be given on your formal invite and we ask that you arrive and be in your seat no later than 15 minutes before the ceremony starts. We encourage you to arrive earlier - perhaps 20 minutes early or more, particularly if you are not staying nearby - to give yourself time to park and find a seat.

Will there be a bar?

Yes, the event will be open bar!

What's for dinner?

An incredible buffet that we all get to take part in together. There will be plenty of options and we hope you'll find it as delicious as we do!

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Our wedding venue is amazing and able to accommodate! Please just let us know ASAP so we can coordinate whatever you need.

Is transportation pre-arranged?

Because of the extremely convenient location of the hotel, we are not providing transportation. This is because there are SO many places to stay within walking distance - and even more AirB&Bs on top of that! If you are staying somewhere far away from the hotel, we'd suggest pre-booking an Uber or a taxi to pick you up from Inn at Laurel Point or making sure you have a designated driver.

Is there parking at the hotel?

Yes! As of now, overnight parking at Inn at Laurel Point is $26 plus tax. Daily parking is max $12/day (up to 11:00pm, then it becomes overnight parking rates). Vehicles must be under 6'2" and there are ample EV chargers available in the lot. There are also many parkades and parking locations downtown if you'd prefer to park elsewhere.

I have more questions that aren't here.

Okay no worries! Please feel free to text Leila at 778-319-8667 or email jackandleila2025@gmail.com

Where is Fountain Lake in Beacon Hill Park?

It's around a half hour walk from Inn at Laurel Point or a six minute drive. No matter which way you're getting there, the directions on Google are fairly accurate! Put in the address Fountain Lake, Athletic Green, Beacon Hill Loop, Victoria, BC V8V 2P2. You'll know you're in the right place when you see a grassy area with lots of trees that's right beside Fountain Lake (there are signs throughout the park directing towards Fountain Lake).
