"We met at the University of Alberta about ten years ago, and spent countless hours together while getting our Bachelors degree in Fine Arts for Acting. We were in a cozy class of 10 people in that program, but we quickly grew close, and have been best friends ever since. We worked together as well for the past three years (she was technically my boss, and I still love her, if you’d like a gauge of how great she is). We are a perfect “opposites attract” friendship, and there are few joys greater in my life than being with Leila!! Whether it’s watching movies at home, eating at a fancy restaurant, or traveling to New York together and panicking about bed bugs, there is always love and laughter with her!" - Lauren

We became friends when she saw me post pictures of my “Disneybound Challenge” entries in 2018, and messaged me to say that we should be friends. As usual, she was right!!! Since then we’ve had many conventions, Disney trips, Oscars nights, nights at the theatre and movie dates, and I can’t imagine life without Leels. "Leila and I met in grade 1, almost exactly 23 years ago. Fate (and Mrs. Ormiston) sat us next to each other and, as kids do, we decided to be best friends immediately. Countless sleepovers, endless movies and definitely more microwave popcorn than what is considered “healthy” or “safe”. It’s been a privilege to grow up alongside Leila and watch her turn into the person that she is today. She is hilarious, kind, supportive and the way she has always been so authentically herself, even as a kid, is an inspiration. Leila and I first met in grade 8, and cemented our friendship in the only way two teenage theatre nerds could – attending a Shakespeare camp at Bard on the Beach together that summer. High school was defined by constant movie nights, theatre outings, and playing feuding couples (she will forever be the Titania to my Oberon). Whether Leila was writing a character for me to be slapped by on stage, or she was playing the character slapping me on stage, we never ceased to have fun. Now 10+ years of long-distance friendship later, I relish our annual catch ups over a beer…or an entire brewery crawl. Even though we go long periods without being able to see each other, we’re just two ‘ol pals that settle right back into wherever we leave off. I love Leila for too many reasons to count – her wit, her intellect; she’s a true individual. I’ve loved getting to watch her become the person she is today, and how she’s grown together with Jack. "Jack and I met 23 years ago in kindergarten, when we were far cuter and blonder. Our resemblance led many to think we were cousins, a lie I couldn’t be prouder to encourage. Jack has always been a partner in crime, making me laugh about absolute nonsense. There are too many stories to tell but I will give a few highlights: Birthday presents buried in heaps of garbage, almost dying in the mustang when the brakes failed, joshing around in band class, using student IDs in Hawaii, telling me the longest joke in history and my first memory of Jack which was playing tree tag together at school.
