Their story began around three months after Leslye had moved back to New Jersey. They met for the first time a gathering through a mutual friend. Leslye had been looking for advice pertaining to goals she had at the time, when that mutual friend mentioned that Devante's parents were working on similar goals as well and offered to help Leslye meet and speak with them to gain some insight.

Soon after at an arranged gathering, Devante and Isabella were the first two to arrive after her. As more friends arrived, discussions began, and they eventually found themselves finding common subjects of interest.

It was at this point where Leslye made fun of Devante in playful banter, a little jab, nothing hurtful. He shot back and the banter never stopped after that day. It did however take a brief pause during karaoke, where they sang songs from the hit musical Hamilton.

After they exchanged information, they invited each other to different gatherings, hikes, and gaming events, another shared hobby.

Their story includes many friends who have been there for each of them individually, but also for them as a couple. Their family has also been a tremendous help, it being their first relationship and all. They also wanted to shout out their number one chaperone, Jace. Many meals were payed for, for the services he provided.

And now here they are! counting down the days where "goodbyes" and "see you tomorrows" are things of the past and a vow brings them together forever.
