Our Wedding

How We Met...

In the Autumn of 2022, a friend invited Rob to attend a business networking group at church and to meet a "beautiful brunette" named Leticia, who had just started attending. Rob laughed and said, “Well, if I go to church, it’s not to meet a woman, but for God.” What no one knew at the time was that God was already weaving a story much bigger than anyone could imagine. The actual introduction of Rob and Leticia would not happen until March 2023. Leticia’s online alias was “Penelope” when they both found each other on a dating site. Their first conversation lasted three and a half hours. Rob asked Penelope which church she attended. When she mentioned the same church his friend went to, Rob said, “My friend attends the morning business group.” Leticia smiled saying she had attended that group a few months earlier. Realizing the connection, she added, “Tell him I say hello, and by the way, my real name is Leticia!” Rob, flabbergasted, repeated out loud slow and steady but with more emphasis in each pronunciation: “ Leticia, Le-Ti-Ci-a, Le-TICIA!!” Rob immediately realized that this was the same exact woman that his friend wanted to introduce him to just four months earlier! We truly believe that this relationship has been marked by God’s divine timing and blessing. Through seasons of growth, challenges, joy and grace, we see how God is shaping our hearts, strengthening our love, and guiding us toward the life we are choosing to build together. With hope in His plan, we look forward to every tomorrow, trusting that the best is yet to come, as we continue writing our story together. TIMING

Please plan for an early arrival to the wedding. This is a safe yet busy tourist area and traffic heading into La Jolla can get very congested adding another 20 minutes of travel time. Street parking is limited so we've reserved a parking lot nearby at 875 Prospect Street. Plan to arrive at the wedding by 3pm, or earlier to explore the area and view. Ceremony will begin after 3pm.

We are providing shuttle service to bring you back to your parked car at the end of the night within 3 miles of the venue. Our anticipated time for the shuttle would be between 8:30pm to 10:30pm. There will be a sign-up sheet at the end of the night.

Q & A

DRESS CODE

This event will be semi-formal. The Wedding party will have suits (with Vans) and semi-formal dresses. Come as you normally would to a wedding, and most importantly how you feel most comfortable. The wedding and reception will take place at the park/beach/community room, right next to the ocean. We recommend bringing a jacket or shawl. The ceremony will be outside on the grass lawn. Hors d'oeuvres hour and dinner will be on the grass lawn, patio (cement), with access to the building/community room. Bring back-up shoes if needed. Based on typical weather patterns for mid-May in San Diego, it is likely to be pleasant during the day with a mix of sun and clouds, and cooler at night. Please see 'Weather' tab for details.

The most central place in San Diego with lots of hotels is “Mission Valley” (92108) specifically in/near Hotel Circle— it is close to the airport, downtown, and extremely central to all of San Diego, For the wedding (ceremony &amp; reception), it is located north of Downtown San Diego about 30 minutes.
