Our Story

All along there was some invisible string - Taylor Swift

2020 was a strange time for a lot of people, but for us, it's where our story began. Liam, having just finished his degree at Penn State, moved to Baltimore to begin his professional career. Brittney, having finished her time at Wayne State, also moved to Maryland to be closer to her family. In actuality, there was an invisible string tying these two together, and it was time for them to finally meet.

Even though the world was shut inside, there was nothing that could have stopped us from being together. Looking to make "friends" in Maryland, we both joined Hinge, the dating app with the slogan "designed to be deleted". Liam had run out of likes for the day but was smitten with Brittney's profile. Not wanting to lose this match, he had sent her a rose (fitting since Brittney's middle name is Rose), which is reserved for your one and only. We were both enamored with the conversation and before their first meeting, Brittney told her sister "I think I found the one".

Over the next few months, we fell more in love with each other every single day, and despite knowing each other for less than a year, we moved in together in 2021. We were ready to start the next stage of any relationship: adopting a cat. We named her Medoh, and she is the sweetest cat we could have ever asked for. Months turned into years, and there were so many memories in between. From skydiving to many career changes, to Medoh being a little rascal, we've lived a lifetime in the little time we've known each other.

With each passing day, Liam was more and more sure he wanted to marry Brittney. On the hottest day in July 2022, Liam asked Brittney if she wanted to go on a walk. Brittney, being the sensible woman that she is, profusely refused, but eventually relented when she saw Liam put on a button-down shirt for a casual walk in the park. She began humming "Paper Rings" by Taylor Swift and the pair made their way to Federal Hill Park, where Liam proposed to Brittney with her favorite wine and an instrumental version of "Wildest Dreams" by, you guessed it, Taylor Swift. We've been happily engaged ever since, which brings us to our most recent, and hectic, chapter.

2023 has been our busiest year so far, and it feels like we've done more this year than the past 2 years combined. We've bought a house, went to a Taylor Swift concert, Brittney finished her degree, adopted a second cat named Boris, have grown closer to our friends, and are now planning our wedding. Throughout the years, we've grown as individuals and grown together. We would love nothing more than to have all of the people who have had a part in the shaping of our story join us on the most important day of our lives. Thank you all for being a part of our story, and we can't wait to have you join us at our wedding!
