Liesl and David's story began back in 2016 when they both moved to Washington, D.C. to work at the National Institutes of Health. The two were coworkers, neighbors, and close friends for two years. It wasn't until they moved 300 miles apart to start graduate school (Liesl in Baltimore, David in Ithaca) that their friendship grew into more. From the start, they have shared their love of learning, science, music, art, cooking, cocktails, hiking, and good conversations with friends/family.

From 2018 until 2023 David was based in Ithaca, NY and Liesl spent weeks at a time with him there, always referring to each others' cities as their "second home." Ithaca is where they fell in love, and where David popped the question. It holds a magical place in both of their hearts, and they cannot wait to share it with all of their favorite people!

In 2023, David finished his PhD and they (finally!) got to move together to Hoboken, NJ, right outside of NYC. They couldn't be happier to have sold David's car and to only need Liesl's to commute to work! :)
