What's the dress code?

We kindly ask guests to observe a formal/cocktail dress code. For gentlemen, we encourage suits. For ladies, we encourage long dresses. The weather in December is generally warm during the day (mid 70's to low 80's) with plenty of sunshine. In the evenings it does cool down, so layers are recommended.

What about gifts?

We're honored to have you join us on our special day, and your presence is truly the best present. However, if you feel inclined to give a gift, please visit our registry. By purchasing through our registry, gifts can be directly shipped to us to avoid any transport issues.

Can I invite additional guests?

As space is limited, we kindly ask that you do not invite additional guests. Seating will be assigned and planned around the exact numbers of guests.

It's my first time in amatitán, what should I know?

You'll be flying into Guadalajara International Airport, which is the second largest airport in Mexico. Upon arrival, you'll go through immigration and be required to fill out the arrival form. Once complete, you'll gather your bags at baggage claim and provide the customs form. You'll also be asked to press a button to see if you're eligible for secondary search: green light means you're good to go, red light means your baggage will be checked. Once you exit customs, you'll land in the arrivals hall where you can connect with your ground transportation provider. Amatitán is a charming small town located an hour outside of Guadalajara. It is the epicenter of the birthplace of tequila, and as such is more rustic in nature. You can expect a small town vibe with many of the comforts of home, but we do have a few recommendations to make your time more enjoyable: The streets and sidewalks aren't up to US standards, so wear the right shoes for cobblestone streets, broken sidewalks and hills. Drinking water is safe in your hotel, but you should drink bottled water anywhere else. The city is very safe, but like anywhere, don't wear flashy jewelry or accessories to not draw attention. US dollars are not commonly accepted, so please bring Mexican pesos. As this is a small town, credit card usage isn't as common.

I've never been to a Mexican wedding. What should I expect?

In short, expect a good time. Mexican weddings are lively events full of food, booze, music and dancing. They begin with a traditional church wedding which highlights the many traditions and customs of Mexican culture. After that, we'll proceed to the reception. Music will include traditional mariachi and banda music. Food will highlight the flavors of Mexico. Drinks will heavily feature tequila, but we will have other options available (water, soft drinks, and wine) if you're not a tequila drinker. Wear your best dancing shoes and get ready to dance the night away (seriously, as this thing will likely go til midnight!)

Can I invite additional guests who are not listed on the invitation?

While we love your friends and family as much as you do, we can not accommodate any additional guests aside from those listed on your invitation. Our attendance list has been curated specifically to the maximum allowed count. Seating will be assigned in advance based on RSVPs from our guest list only. Additional guests who are not named directly on the invitations will NOT have seats nor reserved meals. We will regretfully have to deny entrance to anyone not listed by us and not RSVP’d in advance for the safety and comfort of all of our guests. If there is someone you think might have been overlooked, please let us know at least three months in advance of the event and we will advise if there are any cancellations. Otherwise, the attendance list is set and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
