Alejandro and Lilly met on November 21st, 2019 at a now-closed bar called Wild Greg's Saloon. After the night we met, we went on a date the very next day. This is one of our first pictures together. We had just decided to be "boyfriend-girlfriend," and this was our farewell date before Lilly went home to Wisconsin for Christmas.

The first time we said "I love you." Alejandro said it first. :)

Alejandro's first trip to Milwaukee! Or, more specifically, Bristol, Racine, Wauwatosa, and Milwaukee. Lilly showed him her favorite beach, and he met many members of her family.

During the pandemic, we had to get creative with our dates. We used to DoorDash together. Started from the bottom now we're here...

Our first trip together after just a year of dating - we took it international. We went to Colombia for two weeks, spent time with Alejandro's family in San Martín, and spent time on the coast in San Bernardo del Viento. Lilly's Spanish was put to the test.

Our first road trip, to Washington D.C.! Lilly had just graduated from the University of Minnesota with her bachelors degree.

After undergrad, Lilly moved to Mankato to pursue her masters degree at Alejandro's college, where he was in his third year. Both Lilly and Alejandro felt this was a huge step toward a future together.

Our second year anniversary.

Lilly moved home to Wisconsin for a semester during her second and final year of her master's program. This was the farthest and longest we ever were apart. We visited each other about every two weeks.

For our third year anniversary, we finally went to San Francisco, a place that for some reason we talked about visiting during our early dates. After this trip, Lilly moved back to Minneapolis to finish her final semester of her masters, while Alejandro finished his final year of undergrad at Mankato online.

We got engaged! Alejandro set it up perfectly. He asked Lilly to take the day off from her internship and from her part-time job at a pizza restaurant to help him take pictures for Latino Day at the Minnesota State Capitol. After the event, Alejandro suggested they grab lunch and take a walk by the river. Lilly was very hungry and almost rushed the walk, but luckily, she kept quiet and Alejandro proposed in front of the Minneapolis skyline! Lilly cried off all her makeup, then Alejandro surprised her with dinner at the Capitol Grille, drinks, and a rooftop hot tub at the Hewing Hotel. They kept the engagement a secret just for the night, and then told everyone the next day. It was beautiful.

Alejandro graduated with his bachelors, and Lilly graduated with her masters! Alejandro was now in pursuit of his own masters degree, through Lilly's alma mater, the University of Minnesota!

Wedding planning began just as Lilly started her first job as a speech-language pathologist, and Alejandro pursued his masters in public policy at the U.
