FROM LOS ANGELES: There is only one remaining direct flight on this route by United from LAX. As of June 2026, that flight leaves daily at 8:35AM. There are also plenty of daily connecting flights from LAX &amp; BUR, generally connecting via SLC.

FROM NEW YORK CITY: There are no direct flights from JFK, LGA or EWR to Kalispell, but there are many connecting flights from each airport by United, Delta, Alaska, and American.

We recommend booking your flights as far in advance as you feel comfortable, because prices do tend to increase. For guests not in the immediate family or wedding party, we recommend arriving before 3PM on Friday, September 18th in order for you to get to your hotel and settle in before the Welcome Party.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

There are Ubers and Lyfts available to take you from the airport to your hotel. You can also call a taxi via Kalispell Airport Taxi, Grab a Cab MT, 406 Rides, Mountain Shuttle, and more. Uber, Lyft, and taxis cannot be relied upon for transportation outside of the airport. Our suggested taxi vendor is 406 Rides: https://406rides.com/ We will be providing shuttles from our recommended hotels to and from the Welcome Party and Wedding Day. If you wish to do any traveling of your own (which we highly recommend!) you should plan to rent a car. Car rentals are very coveted in the Flathead Valley. You should put in a rental request as far in advance as you feel comfortable. Turo is also a viable option to rent cars peer-to-peer!

LODGING

While we'd love to have everyone in the same place, there simply isn't one hotel in the Flathead Valley big enough for all of us! Your invitation includes a "Hotel Booking" slip stating which hotel you should book. We have assigned hotels based on each hotel's capacity and to make sure that buses are able to evenly distribute, so we ask that you please respect the assignments. If you plan to instead book an AirBnB or totally separate hotel and drive yourself, that's fine too - just let us know so we don't hold a room for you. If you lost your slip or didn't receive one, please let us know and we can tell you!

PADDLE RIDGE CABINS (WEST GLACIER)

Reservations are closed for Paddle Ridge. This is also the wedding venue.

MEADOW LAKE RESORT (Columbia Falls)

Call the Resort directly at 406-892-8700 to make your reservation. Identify yourself as part of the Harty-Zimmerman Wedding group. You must book no later than July 15. This is also the Welcome Party venue. Amenities:Complimentary airport transportation (48-hour advance reservation required), group shuttle available with advance reservation (fees may apply), guestrooms include fridge/microwave, Keurig, free Wi-Fi. Meadow Lake Bar &amp; Grille open daily 4–9pm, Fireside Coffee Shop open daily 7:30–11:00am, adult fitness center open daily 7am–11pm (gym, outdoor hot tub, sauna, steam room), family recreation center open daily 8am–10pm (indoor pool), spa open Tuesday–Saturday and golf course available.

Visit Glacier National Park

Rent camping gear and camp in West Glacier before adventuring in the park at the West Glacier Campground, or the KOA (if you're fancy). Or, just take a day trip from your hotel.

While you're at the West Glacier Campground, check out our favorite place to eat - the Sunflower Cafe: a haven for BBQ lovers and Deadheads alike.

Drive to Lake McDonald Lodge and take a dip in Lake McDonald, followed up with lunch or dinner at the Lodge

Hike to Avalanche Lake, one of the most popular destinations in GNP.

Hike the Highline trail at the top of Going to the Sun Road.

Hike to Hidden Lake or Hidden Lake Overlook from Logan Pass at the top of Going to the Sun Road.

Hike to Virginia Falls, passing two beautiful waterfalls on the way.

Drive Going to the Sun Road to the St. Mary side of the park and take the quick hike up to Sun Point.

Make a trip out of it and keep driving northeast to go to Many Glacier, a beautiful less-traveled section of GNP. If you want to see a bear or a moose, your odds are good!

Ready for a challenge? From Many Glacier, take the 11 mile roundtrip hike to Grinnell Glacier, and touch a glacier (a once in a lifetime experience).

Explore Flathead Valley

Rent a boat and take to the Flathead Lake. Every day is a good day on the lake!

Rent a kayak and explore Flathead Lake at a leisurely pace.

Beer lover? You're in the right place. Check out some of NW Montana's famous breweries: Backslope Brewing, Sacred Waters, Bonsai Brewing, Bias Brewing, SunRift Beer, Tamarack, Flathead Lake Brewing, and many more.

Not a beer fan? Grab a cider flight at Big Mountain Ciderworks, or a cocktail at Glacier Distilling.

Head to the Big Mountain at Whitefish and take the chairlift all the way to the top! Enjoy a beer overlooking the Flathead Valley. (Only open weekends in September.)

In September, water levels are typically low, which make for a much more relaxed ride. Our venue is also a rafting company that offers us a discount for groups. If you're interested in a rafting trip, or a more chill float, let us know and we can get you set up. Trips take about 4 hours.

You're in the West, might as well act like it! Go on a horseback ride at one of our many friendly nearby ranches.

The details

We would be delighted if you would join us before the wedding from Tuesday, Sep 15 through Friday, Sep 18 in beautiful Whitefish, Montana! We are only inviting the wedding party and a few additional close friends. We are planning to rent cars to take us out for some optional activities. Some early ideas include a lake day and/or boat day in Lakeside, hikes, golfing, ropes courses, ziplining, spa treatments, and workout classes, but the world is our oyster (well, Flathead Valley is, anyway).

the price of fun

We know you're already giving up a lot to be here for us, so we're covering the majority of the lodging &amp; transportation costs. For those who can afford it, we would welcome a total contribution of $200 (for an individual) / $300 (for a couple) to help cover some of those costs. But if cost is prohibiting you from coming, please let us know!
