Jasmine is my younger sister and best friend! Jasmine has been my biggest supporter ever since I can remember. Anyone who knows me knows I take her everywhere with me. Even with our 8-year age difference, we always have each other’s back. I could not be luckier to have a sister like her 😘

I met Metha during my first year of med school, and from day one, it felt like I’d known him forever. He’s been there for every high and low—whether it was stressing over exams, navigating the messiness of med school romances, or showing up at my door with a “let's get out of galveston” look on his face. He’s seen me go from the awkward first conversations with Lily to getting down on one knee to propose. We’ve shared a lot of laughs, a few tears, and many spontaneous adventures that usually start with “Let’s just go and see how it goes” Metha is one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met—a true gentleman, and my go-to guy when life throws a curveball (or we just want to hit up a last-minute rave). He’s not just a friend—he’s a brother, through and through.

Steven is my future brother-in-law, and though he’s usually the quiet guy chilling in the background, he’s always been a solid presence for every major moment. The first time I met him was when I was nervously sitting down for dinner at Lily’s house—since then, I’ve gotten to know the guy who’s always there when you need him, no questions asked. I’ll never forget the time he went out with me during the end of my second year of med school; I may have celebrated a bit too hard and ended up throwing up in the back of his car (sorry Steve). Despite that, he’s remained as laid-back and supportive as ever. I’m lucky to be able to call him family soon.

I met Darrand through Metha during med school, and our friendship took off fast, fitting, considering the first time we really hung out was at a rave. From the jump, Darrand’s been that guy: outgoing, easy to talk to, and genuinely kind. He’s the kind of person who can walk into a room full of strangers and leave with ten new friends. We've been through a lot—korean spas, monopoly deal nights, Chicago, and that one time where he almost died in a car accident (thankfully, he’s still here and still down to party with a busted leg). Darrand’s got a huge heart and a loyalty that runs deep. I’m lucky to have him in my corner.

My little brother, Tailuong, may be ten years younger than me, but he’s always felt like one of the crew. When we were younger, we bonded over video games, and as we got older, he never hesitated to hang with me and my friends—even tagging along to medical school conferences and adventures, like that one trip to Round Rock and the water park with Jasmine. He’s introverted and quiet, but when he speaks, he means it—and when he commits to something, he follows through. Seeing him grow into the person he is now has been one of the coolest things. I’m proud to have him standing by my side.

Cindy is my cousin and my first ever built-in best friend. Throwback to the days of talking on the phone on weekday evenings when the minutes were “free” and having dance parties in her room! Always grateful for her listening ear and one of the few people who can truly understand our family 🙂‍↕️😂

Aneesa is the first friend I've ever made since pre-K and beyond. We even shared our small dorm room and apartment bedroom together at UT Austin for two whole years. Looking back can’t believe we had no need for personal space lolol. Genuinely the funniest person, so easy to talk to, gives the best advice, and always takes care of everyone 😚

Aliya is another one of my childhood best friends since elementary school. We were the hugest nerds and bonded over reading books and puzzle games online. I always can call her for support on anything, regardless if it’s a good idea or not LOL. She is the coolest person, always striving to be better, and truly could be friends with anyone 🤗

Elizabeth is one of my closest friends from medical school. Despite our busy schedule, she has always been there for me if I needed an ear or some real advice and has never failed to make me feel meaningful to her. I am so lucky to have met her—the big sister I never had and my silliest friend for life 🤓
