We met after the summer of 2017 we were working across the hall from each other at Windward mall. Emory was working at Pretzel Maker and Lily at Ben and Jerry’s. Although we knew each other on a casual level, we had very little contact with each other until there was issues with the water at B&J so every day, multiple times a day, Lily walked over to Pretzel Maker with a cup and asked for water. After a short while we became good friends and would spend our time at work messing around by throwing snowballs from B&J, and dough balls from Pretzel Maker. Over the next few weeks our friendship grew more until Lily confessed an interest in Emory over a text conversation one day and he did the same. After this we got much closer and got to know each other more until one night as we were studying late at a Starbucks, Emory asked if Lily would be his girlfriend and she accepted.

This is Emory, he’s my absolute favorite person. He’s done so much for me and has supported me through everything. Through career changes, passing of loved ones, through all my wins and all my losses he’s always made sure I knew he’d be there. He’s a big weirdo and can be quite the softy when he’s dealing with me and wants to make sure I get all I want in life. He’s currently a General Maintenance Technician for Goodyear and is on the path to learn to be a Master Technician, he loves just about all things cars and I love the passion he has when he talks about them and tries to teach me. The loves basketball, video games and Eminem but his favorite pass time is reading manga and watching anime. Just another thing I love, seeing the passion in his eyes when he talks about his favorite things. I’m very lucky to have him and am so excited for the rest of our lives together.

This is Lily, the love of my life and my soon to be wife. She means the world to me and I really appreciate everything she does for me. She has pushed me to pursue my current career goals as well as supported me every step of the way. Many may not know that Lily is a goofball about 80% of the time I’m with her but it’s those moments of her being herself that I enjoy the most. Currently Lily is a Sales Associate at Goodyear and is trying to navigate a new life course, but as many may know she has a passion for tattooing. Why did she leave? That is something you may need to ask for yourself but I do believe she is still an amazing artist and can succeed if she chooses to go back. A few other things Lily likes include gaming, cooking/baking, and SLEEP TOKEN (a music band). She so cute when she finds something she likes and ends up deep diving into information so she can know everything about it. She tells me that she wants to make new recipes she finds on TikTok, and then while she is cooking will listen to Sleep Token. It makes me happy when she gets to do the things she love with a smile, and makes me want to keep putting that smile on her face for the rest of our lives.
