In Town


Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center: A family-friendly indoor pool filled with natural hot spring water. Perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors.


Arkansas River: Raft, kayak, or fish in the river, which runs right through town. It's one of the best spots for whitewater rafting in Colorado.


Hiking:

Trails around the area like Bear Creek Trail and S-Mountain (Tenderfoot Mountain) offer incredible views of the Arkansas Valley and surrounding mountains.


Mountain Biking: Salida has an extensive network of mountain biking trails suitable for all skill levels, including the Monarch Crest Trail, one of the best in the state.


Art and Culture

Salida Creative District: Wander through downtown and explore local art galleries, unique shops, and historical buildings. The town has a vibrant art scene with local artists showcasing their work.

SteamPlant Event Center: A historic building on the Arkansas River that hosts concerts, art exhibits, and film screenings.

Soulcraft Brewing: Enjoy a craft beer while taking in views of the mountains.

Boathouse Cantina: Situated on the river with great views and delicious food.

Scenic Drives

Check out Buena Vista on your drive in. Buena Vista offers a cute boutiques and restaurants.


Monarch Pass: Drive up to Monarch Pass for breathtaking views, or ride the gondola at Monarch Crest Scenic Tramway.


Collegiate Peaks Scenic Byway: This drive offers stunning views of the Collegiate Peaks and access to hiking, fishing, and camping.


Visit the Salida Museum

A small but interesting museum that explores the history of Salida and the surrounding area.


Rock Climbing

The nearby Arkansas Hills and Browns Canyon offer great climbing spots for all levels.
