Our Story

The Proposal

Picture of The Proposal

In the summer of 2015, Lindsay convinced Connor to wonder into The Diamond Cellar at Easton. After having a dinner date Emerson free & a beer or 2 (the only way she could actually convince him to go) Lindsay got to try on rings. Long story short, she found "the one" but didn't actually think Connor was going to buy anything. Six months later it finally happened! On Valentine's Day 2016 (after another Emerson free date night) Connor woke up early in the morning & went out to grab Lindsay a coffee. When he got home, he came upstairs to wake her up, at which time she gave Connor his Valentine's Day present. He then told her to stay upstairs for a second. He came back and handed her an index card that said "I love you" Lindsay giggled and said "I love you too" all the while thinking he just felt bad that he didn't get her a Valentine's Day present. (But really he just needed to get the ring downstairs) She then went down, grabbed her coffee, took a drink and decided to heat it up in the microwave. As she was closing the microwave door, Connor (in a slight panic) said WAIT! I wrote something under the sleeve. Lindsay was so confused, so many notes, but didn't think too much into it and slid the sleeve down. There it was, the ring she had pinned on Pinterest 100 different times! She was SO caught off guard (something she never thought would actually be possible after waiting 6 months and wondering at every turn if this was the moment) Connor asked, she said (or maybe screamed) yes & they took the rest of the day to take it all in and tell close loved ones before it became public knowledge!

The Venue Choice

Lindsay has always wanted a small outdoor wedding. The dream started as an outdoor beach wedding with a giant house for the wedding party to stay in and a ceremony & reception in the back yard. Through searching for a house, Facebook picked up on what she was searching for and posted an ad for the Hawkesdene House on her page. She showed Connor & they decided to go look at it. After spending the afternoon there, they knew it was the perfect place for their wedding
