What is the dress code?
The dress code is semi-formal.
Can I bring a plus one?
Space is limited at the venue, so unfortunately we cannot accommodate any extra guests.
What is the Order of the Day?
The wedding ceremony will begin at Selwyn Chapel at 1pm and will be followed immediately by a reception at Selwyn College (in the Harrison Room if rain, in the gardens if sun).
The reception will be followed by a seated dinner for family at the Black Bull in Balsham, and finally, there will be dessert, drinks and dancing, also hosted at the Black Bull. All guests are warmly invited to the ceremony, reception and after-dinner drinks.
Owing to the small size of the Black Bull's dining room, only family and the wedding party are invited to the seated dinner following the reception.
Are children invited?
We politely request no children under ten attend the ceremony and reception. Thank you in advance for your understanding!
Do you have a registry?
The "Registry" tab on this site will connect you with our registry, which is hosted through the website server. The site only takes US-based payments, so we would like to redirect our friends and family in the UK, Germany and elsewhere to use this registry link if you'd like to gift something to the happy couple: https://withjoy.com/lindsay-josh-apr-25/registry.
Will transportation be provided?
Transportation between Selwyn Chapel and the Black Bull will be provided for family, groomsmen and bridal party members who will be attending the private reception dinner. We kindly request that friends joining us for drinks and dessert in the evening arrange their own transport (please see Travel page for more detail).
Taxis have been arranged to transport guests back to Cambridge city centre starting from 9pm.
Will food be served?
We will be hosting a seated dinner on Saturday afternoon which due to space constraints will only include our families, groomsmen and bridal party. All guests will be served canapés at Selwyn College immediately following the ceremony, and everyone is welcome to join us in the evening at the Black Bull in Balsham for dessert and drinks.
Is there accommodation available at the venue?
There is very limited accommodation available at the Black Bull in Balsham; we recommend looking at the travel page of our website for more detail on accommodation in Cambridge.
Do I need a visa?
A new requirement obliges all U.S. Citizens to have an Electronic Travel Authorization to travel to the UK, unless you are already in possession of a UK visa. It costs £10 and takes three days to process and will remain valid for two years after purchase.
If you are unsure if you need a visa to enter the UK, you can check here: https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Ramps will be available at the chapel and the pub; please do let us know if you have any other accessibility needs!
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes, there is parking available at both Selwyn College and the Black Bull. Please see our Travel page for more detail.
When should I RSVP?
Please RSVP by 1 March 2025.
