Our Wedding

You&nbsp;know,&nbsp;most&nbsp;epic&nbsp;love&nbsp;stories&nbsp;start&nbsp;with&nbsp;a&nbsp;meet-cute&nbsp;–&nbsp;a&nbsp;chance&nbsp;encounter&nbsp;in&nbsp;a&nbsp;coffee&nbsp;shop,&nbsp;a&nbsp;dramatic&nbsp;rescue,&nbsp;or&nbsp;perhaps&nbsp;a&nbsp;lingering&nbsp;glance&nbsp;across&nbsp;a&nbsp;crowded&nbsp;room.&nbsp;Ours?&nbsp;Well,&nbsp;ours&nbsp;began&nbsp;with&nbsp;a&nbsp;swipe,&nbsp;a&nbsp;hopeful&nbsp;tap,&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;undeniably&nbsp;romantic&nbsp;sound&nbsp;of...&nbsp;Facebook&nbsp;Dating.&nbsp;Yes,&nbsp;folks,&nbsp;we're&nbsp;living&nbsp;proof&nbsp;that&nbsp;true&nbsp;love&nbsp;can&nbsp;indeed&nbsp;be&nbsp;found&nbsp;between&nbsp;ads&nbsp;for&nbsp;questionable&nbsp;widgets&nbsp;and&nbsp;Aunt&nbsp;Carol's&nbsp;latest&nbsp;vacation&nbsp;photos. Our&nbsp;first&nbsp;date&nbsp;was,&nbsp;shall&nbsp;we&nbsp;say,&nbsp;"blessed"&nbsp;by&nbsp;nature.&nbsp;Picture&nbsp;this:&nbsp;a&nbsp;lovely&nbsp;afternoon,&nbsp;Jacob&nbsp;charming&nbsp;me&nbsp;with&nbsp;his&nbsp;wit,&nbsp;and&nbsp;then&nbsp;–&nbsp;BAM!&nbsp;–&nbsp;a&nbsp;rogue&nbsp;bird,&nbsp;clearly&nbsp;a&nbsp;connoisseur&nbsp;of&nbsp;fine&nbsp;sartorial&nbsp;choices,&nbsp;decided&nbsp;his&nbsp;hand&nbsp;was&nbsp;the&nbsp;perfect&nbsp;target&nbsp;for&nbsp;a&nbsp;well-aimed&nbsp;deposit.&nbsp;Some&nbsp;might&nbsp;call&nbsp;it&nbsp;bad&nbsp;luck;&nbsp;we&nbsp;prefer&nbsp;to&nbsp;think&nbsp;of&nbsp;it&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;divine&nbsp;omen.&nbsp;Clearly,&nbsp;the&nbsp;universe&nbsp;was&nbsp;giving&nbsp;Jacob&nbsp;a&nbsp;very&nbsp;literal&nbsp;"shit&nbsp;happens"&nbsp;moment,&nbsp;testing&nbsp;his&nbsp;resolve&nbsp;(and&nbsp;my&nbsp;ability&nbsp;to&nbsp;suppress&nbsp;laughter).&nbsp;He&nbsp;passed&nbsp;with&nbsp;flying&nbsp;colors. Fast&nbsp;forward&nbsp;a&nbsp;year,&nbsp;and&nbsp;we&nbsp;found&nbsp;ourselves&nbsp;embarking&nbsp;on&nbsp;what&nbsp;would&nbsp;become&nbsp;our&nbsp;annual&nbsp;pilgrimage&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;glamorous&nbsp;metropolis&nbsp;of...&nbsp;Peoria,&nbsp;Illinois!&nbsp;Yes,&nbsp;Peoria.&nbsp;And&nbsp;no,&nbsp;it's&nbsp;not&nbsp;random&nbsp;–&nbsp;it's&nbsp;the&nbsp;home&nbsp;of&nbsp;Ledgestone,&nbsp;a&nbsp;hugely&nbsp;popular&nbsp;disc&nbsp;golf&nbsp;tournament.&nbsp;Our&nbsp;first&nbsp;dating&nbsp;anniversary&nbsp;was&nbsp;celebrated&nbsp;amidst&nbsp;its&nbsp;surprisingly&nbsp;charming&nbsp;streets&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;buzzing&nbsp;energy&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;tournament,&nbsp;a&nbsp;tradition&nbsp;that,&nbsp;for&nbsp;reasons&nbsp;known&nbsp;only&nbsp;to&nbsp;our&nbsp;peculiar&nbsp;hearts,&nbsp;stuck.&nbsp;We&nbsp;returned&nbsp;for&nbsp;our&nbsp;second&nbsp;anniversary,&nbsp;solidifying&nbsp;Peoria's&nbsp;unlikely&nbsp;status&nbsp;as&nbsp;our&nbsp;romantic&nbsp;Mecca,&nbsp;all&nbsp;thanks&nbsp;to&nbsp;a&nbsp;flying&nbsp;disc&nbsp;and&nbsp;perhaps&nbsp;a&nbsp;bit&nbsp;of&nbsp;romantic&nbsp;destiny. Now,&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;proposal.&nbsp;Jacob,&nbsp;being&nbsp;the&nbsp;thoughtful&nbsp;(and&nbsp;slightly&nbsp;over-optimistic)&nbsp;romantic&nbsp;that&nbsp;he&nbsp;is,&nbsp;had&nbsp;a&nbsp;grand&nbsp;plan.&nbsp;He&nbsp;envisioned&nbsp;a&nbsp;dramatic,&nbsp;misty&nbsp;proposal&nbsp;at&nbsp;a&nbsp;picturesque&nbsp;waterfall&nbsp;in&nbsp;Ohio,&nbsp;en&nbsp;route&nbsp;to&nbsp;our&nbsp;beloved&nbsp;Peoria.&nbsp;Sounds&nbsp;idyllic,&nbsp;right?&nbsp;Well,&nbsp;Mother&nbsp;Nature,&nbsp;clearly&nbsp;still&nbsp;recovering&nbsp;from&nbsp;her&nbsp;first&nbsp;date&nbsp;"blessing,"&nbsp;decided&nbsp;to&nbsp;play&nbsp;spoiler.&nbsp;A&nbsp;historic&nbsp;drought&nbsp;meant&nbsp;our&nbsp;majestic&nbsp;waterfall&nbsp;was&nbsp;less&nbsp;"cascading&nbsp;wonder"&nbsp;and&nbsp;more&nbsp;"sad,&nbsp;damp&nbsp;rock&nbsp;face."&nbsp;So,&nbsp;no&nbsp;epic&nbsp;waterfall&nbsp;proposal.&nbsp;Jacob&nbsp;probably&nbsp;considered&nbsp;proposing&nbsp;next&nbsp;to&nbsp;a&nbsp;leaky&nbsp;faucet&nbsp;at&nbsp;that&nbsp;point,&nbsp;but&nbsp;thankfully,&nbsp;he&nbsp;rallied. Resourceful&nbsp;man&nbsp;that&nbsp;he&nbsp;is,&nbsp;he&nbsp;pivoted&nbsp;to&nbsp;another&nbsp;significant&nbsp;locale:&nbsp;the&nbsp;beautiful&nbsp;Luthy&nbsp;Botanical&nbsp;Garden.&nbsp;Which,&nbsp;if&nbsp;you&nbsp;recall,&nbsp;was&nbsp;the&nbsp;very&nbsp;spot&nbsp;where&nbsp;we&nbsp;celebrated&nbsp;our&nbsp;first&nbsp;anniversary!&nbsp;So,&nbsp;there,&nbsp;amidst&nbsp;the&nbsp;blooming&nbsp;flowers&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;memories&nbsp;of&nbsp;our&nbsp;burgeoning&nbsp;romance&nbsp;(and&nbsp;thankfully,&nbsp;no&nbsp;more&nbsp;avian&nbsp;bombardments),&nbsp;he&nbsp;got&nbsp;down&nbsp;on&nbsp;one&nbsp;knee.&nbsp;It&nbsp;was&nbsp;perfect,&nbsp;proving&nbsp;that&nbsp;sometimes,&nbsp;even&nbsp;when&nbsp;nature&nbsp;throws&nbsp;a&nbsp;curveball&nbsp;(or&nbsp;bird&nbsp;poop),&nbsp;love&nbsp;finds&nbsp;its&nbsp;way,&nbsp;even&nbsp;if&nbsp;it's&nbsp;via&nbsp;Facebook&nbsp;Dating,&nbsp;a&nbsp;yearly&nbsp;disc&nbsp;golf&nbsp;tournament,&nbsp;and&nbsp;a&nbsp;slightly&nbsp;parched&nbsp;waterfall. And&nbsp;honestly?&nbsp;I&nbsp;wouldn't&nbsp;have&nbsp;it&nbsp;any&nbsp;other&nbsp;way.&nbsp;It's&nbsp;our&nbsp;perfectly&nbsp;imperfect,&nbsp;delightfully&nbsp;unique&nbsp;love&nbsp;story.

You are welcome to reserve a room at the resort both the ceremony and reception will be taking place with the room block code. The cut-off date for the room discount is September 17th, 2025.

Check in up to 3 days before and 3 days after the wedding day at the per night discount rate.

Reservations can be made online within 12 months of check in.

Please note, if you are booking online for a specific room type that is not included in our block, it will show sold out. You can call the reservations department to check availability. Reservations will be able to add the room type to our room block for your desired reservation based off availiability. 
 
Please book your rooms as early as you can. We only have a certain amount of rooms on the room block and the availability outside of that is very limited.

The resort is sold out for Friday night into Saturday but as of adding this section, there is still availiability Saturday night. We are increasing our room block to make sure there are enough rooms but if the resort manages to sell out before you get a room, there are a number of hotels in the area about 20 minutes or under from the resort in a variety of price ranges.
