While Lindsey began attending URJ Camp Coleman in 2004 and Josh began attending in 2005, they did not really get to know each other until much later. They lived parallel lives for a long time, just missing each other by such a small amount. They really got to know one another the summer of 2016 when they were both on staff at Coleman. They spent time chatting the whole summer. As the summer came to a close they exchanged information, hoping to keep in contact.

Due to fate, Josh just so happened to be transferring to Florida State University that fall and their love story began there. Over the years they spent time together going on outdoor adventures, vacations, and finding their true callings. After graduating from Florida State, they decided it was time to take the next step. In April of 2019, Lindsey and Josh moved to Alpharetta, Georgia where Lindsey got a job as the Assistant Director of Camp Coleman and Josh got a job as a Police Officer. After a year of settling in and allowing their love for each-other and Georgia to grow, they would start a new adventure.

One night, March 29th, 2020, they decided to do an "adventure challenge". This scratch off challenge was called The Helpless Baker. The instructions were to make a homemade baked dessert together. The trick was that one of them, the person with less cooking experience (obviously Josh), had to be blindfolded! Lindsey had to guide Josh to bake chocolate chip cookie cups with only three directive sentences and the ability to lead with her hands. Easier said than done!

Once they got the cookies in the oven, Josh decided he would convince Lindsey that it was only fair to blindfold her to take the cookies out of the oven - don't try this at home. Not safe. After some convincing, Lindsey decided to try it. After taking the cookies out, Lindsey took off her blindfold to find Josh down on one knee proposing. Once she put her glasses on and saw what was happening, she said yes!
