Your presence is very much the biggest gift we could ask for! We know many of you are coming from across the Atlantic to be with us and this is so appreciated! But- if you find yourselves with cash to spare, you can donate to one of our cash gift registries!
We've got one for our honeymoon trip to New Zealand and one for an eventual house deposit. So you can decide- do you want to send us on a wild adventure? Or help us get a home of our own?
If you're keen visit the Registry section of our Wed-Site for the links to our Collection Pots.
Thank you so much!
Where should I stay?
Big question! There are lots of options.
If you're following our recommended itinerary for group fun, you'll need a places to stay
- In Ottawa, ON Monday the 23rd and Tuesday the 24th
- And Wakefield, QC Wednesday the 25th, Thursday the 26th (and maybe Friday the 27th if you're not wanting to rush away!)
We have guaranteed accommodation at The Grand, Wakefield- the sister hotel to our venue- but it's only guaranteed for the night of the wedding. If you are interested in staying here, send us an email!
Check out our 'Travel Page' for a host of hotels, Airbnb's, etc.!
Is Canada expensive?
It's by all accounts gotten more expensive in previous years, but at time of writing, £1 = $1.72 CAD.
The average price of beer in Canada is $9, or £5.71.
What should I see in Canada?
Canada is a beautiful country; but, in case you haven't noticed, it's pretty massive. You can see loads, but also take into account the distances between things! You can't do Niagara Falls and Vancouver in a single day no matter how hard you try...
If you're keeping things in the Ontario/Quebec side of things...
Toronto:
- the CN Tower
- Toronto Island
- day trip to Niagara Falls
- day trip to wine country
- hockey or basketball game
Ottawa
- hike through Gatineau Park
- tour the Parliament buildings & Canadian senate
- explore the Marketplace
- bike ride along the Ottawa River
- Domaine Perrault Vineyard
What are your wedding colours?
We are not enforcing any strict dress codes or anything like that. But for your information, the vague palette will be lavendar and eucalyptus. Sounds bougie, right? Like a spa day? Couple this with hopefully some fiery oranges provided by the surrounding trees, and we've got ourselves a colour-palette!
But wear something in your version of fancy that you love, that makes you feel amazing, that makes you want to be photographed!
How are we getting from Ottawa to Wakefield?
This is a very excellent question! As you may have noticed, there's not the best public transportation links between Ottawa and Wakefield so it looks like cars may be best!
So- if you need a ride- send us a message! If you have spare spaces in your car, send us a message! We can play carpool match maker!
How should we contact you to ask all these pressing questions of ours?
