Airbnb's in Ottawa
23-25 September
If you're keen for our free shuttle service, this one's for you!
Two weeks and counting!
For guests for Lindsey’s and James’ wedding, we are organizing a shuttle from the nearby village of Wakefield to and from the LeBelvedere wedding venue.
Getting to LeBelvedere: There will be one bus departure at 3:30 pm on the 26th to take you from the old train station in Wakefield to the venue. If you are staying right in Wakefield, it is a small and walkable village, and the old train station is central and easy to find (although it is no longer an official transportation stop for anything!) The trip only takes 15 minutes so you will arrive in perfect time for the ceremony at 4:00 pm, according to Lindsey and James who want people there at 3:45 at the earliest!
Getting back after the wedding: There will be two departures after the festivities. An early bus will leave the venue at 10:45 pm and there will be another bus leaving at 1:00 am. These night buses will take you directly to your accommodation provided that it is near Wakefield (trips into Ottawa are not included in this service). Either departure time will give you plenty of time for some dancing.
Please register in advance for your shuttle seat! This is a long note; thank you for reading it (and re-reading as necessary).
Important details:
The shuttle will leave on time so please plan arrive for boarding at least 10-15 minutes in advance. The driver is not taking attendance so he won’t be waiting for everyone to show up.
You don’t need to take the shuttle both ways. Just choose which ride you need. If you plan to drive there and leave your car at the venue overnight, you must collect it by 9:30 the following morning. Talk to me about that.
Those of you in more rural lodgings, may be dropped off at the end of the driveway to walk the last steps if the bus does not have enough space to turn around. This will be a school bus.
There will be enough seats for all but please let me know in advance.
Unfortunately, this bus service is only arranged for getting to and from the venue on the wedding day. The rest of your transportation is up to you!
The service is free, but cash tips for the driver are always appreciated, though not required.
It is possible to amend your travel choices, but please let me know, if possible.

To register: Please complete the sign-up form at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MY9NSGK by the end of day (whatever your time zone) on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Advantages: The 15-minute drive to the venue may not seem like a long distance, but here are a few reasons why you might want to consider it:
Safety – you can have drinks without worrying about driving;
Guests will arrive at exactly the time Lindsey and James want you there for the ceremony;
Walking is not recommended (especially in special clothes and shoes);
The venue is not an ideal location for late night driving (gravel road, steep hill, no streetlights);
You will get driven ‘home’ directly to your accommodation (as long as it is near Wakefield);
It is hassle-free; no need to pre-order a cab or Uber;
No getting lost - the bus drivers know where they’re going;
There are early and late departure options at the end of the night;
There’s plenty of seats for all;
It is one less thing to worry about on the big day;
The group transport thing can be a lot of fun!
Please remember to register in advance by Sept 22 to guarantee your spot.
