We have grown up in the same area in Washington and attended the same schools. However, Rodric was one year ahead in school so our paths did not cross often. We had a mutual friend in Bethany Stave (Steele) and knew each other from afar. We ran into each other at Move-In Day at Biola University and quickly became friends. Becoming friends and growing closer was the best decision we have made! It has led to countless laughs and adventures together. We can't wait for the adventure to continue with married life!

How We Met

The proposal was intimate, magical, and perfect. During Christmas break of our senior year at Biola, Rodric stayed in California and I flew home to Washington. One week before Rodric was supposed to come home to visit, my best friend Megan (maid of honor) asked to go out on a girl's night. Megan picked me up and said we would have dinner at a new place. We arrived in Snohomish, Washington at the beautiful Columbia Winery. It was dark, but as we walked towards the door Rodric's roommate Jordan walked out of the enclosed garden. I was absolutely surprised and confused, but soon figured out what was going on. As we walked into the garden, there was a beautiful walkway lit by candles. At the end of a walkway was a a book of pictures of Rodric and I, and letters that he had written. When I finished reading, Rodric came out and popped the question! He wasn't on his knee long because I didn't have to think about my answer! As you can tell, the answer was YES!

Matt has known Rodric for most of their lives, starting in 3rd grade. However, they didn't start having sleepovers nearly every night, yelling and screaming through both of their houses, until 7th grade. They have been best friends ever since! Guitar Hero is the ONLY game that Matt can beat Rodric in consistently, making it one of his favorites. No matter what they would play as kids, Rodric would always beat him. When the two would play  ping pong, Matt would bolt out of the garage and run around the neighborhood in protest after losing the 5th game against Rodric in a row! They are two of the most hilarious people you will ever meet! Together they have created ridiculous code words when they talk to each other, causing Mama Pence to think they have gone crazy! They hope to still be best friends when they are old and grey. Matt was born in Fresno, CA and has lived in Everett, WA since he was 4 years old. He is currently finishing a film degree at Biola University, but he is also a super creative (and talented)  freelance videographer on the side! His go-to Starbucks drink is just a straight up double espresso, with an iced americano as his back-up choice.His favorite animals are dogs, any dog! He loves them all, especially Rodric's dog, Max. Max is Matt's favorite lovable, heavy-set, fluffball! If he could have any super power it would be invisibility! He would use it to sneak into events, and also avoid inevitably awkward situations! 

Matt Robertson

Megan is one of the most fabulous people you will ever meet! Megan and I (Lindsey) met in 1st grade, but Megan switched schools and we didn't reconnect until 6th grade at church and school. We have been best friends ever since! Megan has been born and raised in Everett, WA. She loves to travel and has visited 14 countries in the last 6 years! She keeps it simple at Starbucks with a Sugar Free Vanilla Americano. She is currently the Global Outreach Administrative Assistant and Trip Coordinator at Canyon Hills Community Church, which means she is super important! Elephants are her favorite animal, and she even got to give an elephant a bath while she lived in Nepal. She lived in Nepal for one year doing missions work. If she could have any superpower, it would be to have a garbage disposal for a stomach, so she could eat as much good food as she wanted without being full! 

Megan Dunlap

Rodric and Bethany have known each other since they were babies and he is like a brother to her.  Lindsey and Bethany have known each other since 6th grade. Bethany is from Mill Creek, WA. She is a closet nerd, meaning that at first acquaintance people wouldn't know that she loves playing video games and she LOVES Star Wars. Her favorite Starbucks drink is the Peppermint Hot Chocolate. Bethany works for Component Products Corp., which is an airplane parts manufacturer! Her favorite animal is a lion! She would love to have the super power of telekinesis (where you can move objects with your mind) or the force. Lindsey and Bethany share being Type 1 Diabetic, bringing them even closer as friends! 

Bethany Steele

Jordan met both of us at Biola University. He quickly knew Rodric as "the guy down the hall who plays a lot of video games." Who knew that two years later they would become "the two guys who play a lot of video games!" The first time Rodric and Jordan
    really talked was when Rodric helped&nbsp;install the sound system in Jordan's car. After that they were inseparable and decided to live together for the next two years at Biola! Jordan met Lindsey through Rodric and Jordan became&nbsp;a hardcore
    third-wheeler every&nbsp;day, and we loved it!

    Jordan is from Scotts Valley,&nbsp;a small city in northern California,&nbsp;about 15 minutes from Santa Cruz and 30 minutes from the Bay Area.&nbsp;
While not a coffee drinker, Jordan's favorite thing to get at Starbucks is their Treetop Apple Juice juice box.&nbsp;
    
    Currently, he is completing his last semester as a nursing student at Biola. His goal is to become a nurse, and someday a nurse practitioner.&nbsp;
    
    His favorite animal is the kangaroo, because there is nothing cooler than genetically having a pocket on your stomach!&nbsp;
    
    If Jordan&nbsp;could choose a super power it would be to have mind control. With this gift he would do great things for society, such as making Rodric and Lindsey move to California.&nbsp;
    
    When Lindsey said "yes" to Rodric, she knew that Rodric and Jordan&nbsp;come as a packaged deal!

Brittany met both of us at Biola University. Brittany and I were roommates our Senior year and she is the best roommate I've ever had!She is from Apple Valley, CA. She loves the show Scandal and wants to be just as awesome as Olivia Pope. Her favorite animal is Pug dogs. She shares my love for Starbucks so much that she has different favorite drinks depending on the season! Her Fall fav is a Pumpkin Spice Iced Coffee. The Winter favorite is the Eggnog Latte. In Spring she goes with a Vanilla Iced Chai Latte. Her Summer go-to is the Strawberry Black Iced Tea. Currently, Brittany is a full-time grad student at UCLA. She also interns for a non-profit high school drop-out prevention organization and works part-time as a Public Relations Coordinator for the Global Public Affairs Department at UCLA . She is a busy lady but still has time to be an amazing friend!

Patty and Lindsey have worked together for the past couple of years with the crazy kids at the Northshore Christian Academy summer camp. Patty is originally from California, but she has grown up in good old Everett. Patty has NEVER had a pet, not even a goldfish! Patty's favorite Starbucks drink is a Hazelnut Iced Coffee. She is not an animal lover, but if she had to pick her favorite it would be elephants! She is currently a Care Coordinator in the Children's Intensive Services at Compass Health.  Patty LOVES Harry Potter. If she could pick a super power it would be teleportation (or to apparate in Harry Potter language), because she would be able to go anywhere in no time for free!

Kristel met both of us through Rodric's Biola roommate, Jordan. She is from San Jose, CA and she attends UC Irvine. She is a full-time nursing student and is an extremely hard worker!She LOVES coffee, which is probably why we are such good friends! Picking just one Starbucks favorite seemed impossible, but her current go-to is a Green Tea Soy Latte with sugar-free vanilla! Her favorite animal is a White Tiger. If she could have any super power, it would be to eat anything and not get fat or be unhealthy! Or she would pick teleportation so she could avoid SoCal traffic, especially when it's raining (best idea ever!).

Trevor is Rodric's youngest brother and he has also started at Biola University. He is studying to be an accountant through Biolas business department.&nbsp;He grew up in Everett, WA.&nbsp;
He LOVES to dance and his favorite Starbucks drink is definitely a White Chocolate Mocha. Dogs were too boring as a favorite animal for Trevor so his favorite is penguins! If Trevor&nbsp;could pick a super power it would be the ability to fly.&nbsp;
Trevor is super excited to have a sister (in law) for the first time ever!



Trevor Pence

When asked to describe his relationship to Lindsey and Rodric, Tyler responded, "Lindsey and I were birthed into the same clan unit and raised as young together. This is where we first became acquainted, and we later became friends. Rodric and I crossed paths during the final match of a ping-pong tournament ran by an underground illegal ping-pong league named, League of the Shadow Paddles. Defeating me and earning my respect, he would later be engaged to wed my sister."Tyler was born in California, but grew up in Washington. He loves the mountains and snowboarding more than anything! He is a hilarious human and spends as much time as possible in the outdoors. 

Tyler Roberts

Rodric and Daniel grew up going to church at Alderwood Community Church. Later, they both attended Henry M. Jackson High School, which is where Daniel met Lindsey through the Christian club, Cadre. Daniel grew up in Mill Creek, Washington. Daniel was a "choir geek" in high school and has recently joined an a cappella group at VCU. Daniel doesn't go to Starbucks very often, but his favorite Starbucks drink is a Dirty Chai. Currently, Daniel lives in Richmond, VA pursuing his MS in Biomedical Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University. Daniel's favorite animal is a cheetah. There isn't a particular reason for this. For some unexplained reason, when anyone asks him this question, he has always said cheetah. Of the many different superhero powers that Daniel would like to have, he would most like to be able to freeze time. That way he would be able to study late into the night, but still get enough sleep for the test the next day. (But, secretly it would be so he could catch up on all the tv shows that he watches without the consequence of wasting time).

Rodric and Scott grew up going to Alderwood Community Church together. They would rides their bikes to the Whistle Stop to get candy and have played way too many video games over the years. Scott grew up in Lynnwood, Washington. He was the intramural champion of four different sports! His favorite drink from a coffee shop is a Strawberry Italian soda. His favorite animal is a cheetah. Currently, Scott works for Live Event Production for Sports Events. He would love to have the superpower to fly, so that he would be able to see the world. Scott also claims to have taught Rodric everything he knows about tennis! :)
