Glacier Trip

Several people have shown interest in doing a Glacier National Park trip while out in MT since it is two and half hours from the MSO airport. Here are a few things we wanted to bring to your attention before going.

- The main park road," Going to the Sun Road" may not even be open in June depending on how much snow is still in the pass. We recommend trying to make plans for after the wedding to give yourself the best chance to visit.

- Bear spray is a must. Wildlife and bears tend to use the easiest paths to get to food, which means you will see them on hiking trails. Have bear spray and know how to use it.

- It is cold. Glacier highs tend to be between 50 and 60 degrees this time of year with lows in 20's and 30's and possible sleet. Bring hat, gloves, and coats if you plan to go.

- There is no gas in the park. Fill up before you go in.

-Glacier can get busy. If you plan on camping or staying at the lodge you will need reservations before going in to the park.

-You will need 3 passes in the park: a park pass to GNP, a car reservation to have a car in the park, and seperate pass each day to access either; Going to the Sun Road, Two Medicine, or Many Glacier.
