We both met in 10th grade when Dylan moved back to Ely, MN. (Although, Dylan actually attended Lindy's VBS at her dad's church when they were about 5 or 6. But Lindy has no memory of him, haha!) We were in the same friend group throughout high school until graduation, but we didn't start dating until a few years after! We started dating in 2022, right when Lindy moved to Park Rapids to teach and Dylan had to finish one more year at the U of M. Crazy? Maybe! We started with long distance right off the bat. Over 1.5 years later, Dylan landed a job right in PR. God provided! Being able to live closer to one another has been the sweetest gift. Being closer together means Dylan can teach Lindy how to fish, we get to go out to eat together, go on movie dates, dabble in frisbee golf, hunt together, do church Sundays together, try some golf, and do anything that includes the outdoors! On November 2nd, 2024, Dylan decided to take Lindy on a "casual" date to Itasca State park. The fall colors were all gone, but he promised he take Lindy at least once this year. So we went to explore. We decided to walk down by the lake and after Dylan checked to make sure no one else was around, he got on one knee and popped the question! After the shock wore off, Lindy eventually said yes. ;)
