Our relationship was a COVID baby that was birthed in the midst of a pandemic.
We met in October of 2020, pre-vaccines, when the prospects of moving freely about the world were still looking grim.
It all began with a failed attempt by Dan to slide into Lisa's DM's ("Hey do you like hiking?"). Four months later, after laying eyes on Dan in person, liking what she saw, Lisa finally replied ("What are you going to be for Halloween").
A marathon four hour date, in which Dan did not buy Lisa any food, happened shortly after, followed by many back and forth commutes between the bustling Metropolis of Biddeford, Maine and the farming community of Albion, Maine.
With options being limited by the pandemic, not being able to do the traditional dating things required us to get creative with how we spent our time together.
Cribbage became a combat sport, pad thai recipes were perfected, margaritas were consumed and Sturgil Simpson, Guster, Billy Strings and Celine Dion were played at high volumes.
Nearly four years later, after several hikes, multiple national park adventures, the longest international flight ever, a house sale and an extended period of time spent convincing our fur babies that they could in fact coexist ... here we are!
