Flights:

Jody can help you book your flight and arrange for transportation from the airport directly to the resort. If you would rather book your own flight, that is an option as well! We would recommend flying into Cancun International Airport (CUN) or you could fly into Tulum Airport (TQO) Felipe Carrillo Puerto Airport. Both are about an hour away from the resort.

Airport Transport:

It is about an hour drive from the airport to the resort, so we would recommend arranging private transportation from the airport to the resort! Otherwise, you may be making several stops along the way and the drive from the airport may take longer than an hour. Roundtrip airport transportation can be arranged with Jody.

Arriving in Mexico:

Once you land, you will proceed to immigration first. This can take anywhere from 10-90 minutes depending on the number of travelers landing at the same time. Be prepared to stand in line (use the restroom before you get in line/bring water) because once you leave the line, you will have to go to the back of the line. Once it is your turn, you will approach the counter with whomever you are traveling with.

You will need your passport(s), which they will review.

Examples of questions they may ask you include: Why are you coming to Mexico? How many days are you staying? Where are you staying?

After immigration, you will move to baggage claim to get your luggage and then head to customs. To go through customs, you will follow everyone toward the exit and people are randomly selected for bag inspection. If you weren't selected, just continue toward the exit.

When exiting the airport, head straight outdoors! DO NOT stop and talk or make eye contact with anyone until you get outside! They are trying to sell you cars, excursions, time shares, etc. They are relentless-just keep walking until you're outside!

Once outside, begin looking for your transportation company name and head that direction! Give them your name and you will be on the way to the resort! PRO TIP: Grab a beer or margarita outside the airport for your trip to the resort! It will make the drive more enjoyable. They will take USD.

Mobile Passport Control:

Mobile Passport Control (MPC) allows eligible travelers to submit their travel document, photo, and customs declaration information through a free, secure app on their smartphone or other mobile device. The use of MPC streamlines the traveler’s entry process into the United States by reducing passport control inspection time and overall wait time. You can download this app to use when entering back into the US after your trip. The app can really shorten the wait time to get through customs in the US! It is easy to use and walks you through step by step how to upload your information to streamline your entry.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

ALL meals, ALL drinks, 24 hour room service is all included! Fine print: There may be some high end liquors , wine, and seafoods that may be extra. The spa and any excursions you book are not included. We have read that anything that is not included will have a price next to it, and you have to sign for a purchase, so you can't "accidentally" purchase something you didn't intend to!

TIPPING

You are NOT obligated to tip, but this is pretty average based on past personal experience at other all inclusive resorts and past guest experience at this resort. Tipping will not effect your level of service negatively... only positively.

The staff will accept US dollars. We are going to bring $1's, $5's, and $10's that we will get from the bank before we leave.

A general tipping guide: up to $5 for housekeeping each day (you can leave it on your bed), $1 for every drink or two, $2-$3 for buffet meal, $5 for delivered meal, and $5-$10 for sit down dinner (per couple).

MISCELLANEOUS TIPS

RCD App:

Download the RCD Hotel app on your phone! This is where you can see dinner menus, make dinner reservations, and see other information like daily activity schedules.

Dinner Reservations:

It is recommended that you reserve your dinner times before your trip. You can do this up to 30 days before your arrival. If you don't make dinner reservations you may have to wait a long time to be seated or find alternative dinner options, such as room service. *You have dinner plans on Saturday, December 6th!*

Dress Codes:

All sit down restaurants have a dress code of formal casual. Examples for men would include nice shorts and a polo or button up. Examples for women would include a sundress and sandals or nice shorts and cute top.

Hat Painting:

Each room comes with a complimentary straw hat. Every Wednesday and Saturday you can take your hat to the Nayade Terrace and have them hand painted by a local artist! You can take them home as a unique souvenir.

Jet Tubs:

Each room has a jet tub on the outside terrace. If you choose to soak in these, we might suggest bringing along a jet tub cleaner prior to use!

Humidity:

We will be staying in a humid environment and sometimes the rooms struggle keeping up with the AC and humidity. You may choose to bring something like DampRid to help manage the humidity in your rooms.
