In a weekend full of first, I competed in a 2 day grass volleyball tournament with girls I met that same day. I began to build a friendship with one of those teammates, Kasey, that insisted I had to meet "this guy." I have to admit, I doubted not only that I would see her again but that I would ever meet this "perfect guy for me."
The following day I ironically competed against 2 of those girls from my Spikefest team for our Monday league sand volleyball game. As my doubles partner and I began to warm up, Kasey screams the name "Dakota" over the entire venue. As all heads are turning from the bar and various courts, I'm adamantly reassuring Kasey that it's okay. We had a game to play! I could just meet him later. Despite my pleas, Kasey continued to wave her arms and flag down this guy that comes running our way from several courts over. I believe she let us talk for all about 2 minutes before shushing him off the court for us to finally begin our game.
Anyone that's met Dakota can confidently say that he knows no strangers, so he naturally approached me the following week at league asking if we could "finish our conversation." The more that we talked, combined friend groups, and traveled together, it became very clear that I never want to finish our conversation!
