Mckenzie Bryan
Mckenzie Bryan - Maid of Honor
From the moment we were caught passing notes in 2008 Bible class, I knew I had found my partner in crime. Though I wouldn’t say we were ever the rebellious teens, let’s just say a little risk never scared us. Lisa is the type of friend that you know they’ll have your back no matter the situation. That’s what makes her the most ideal “Yes Woman.” Down for any adventure, big or small – and no matter what obstacles might get in the way, Lisa will be the one to make the most of it! However, I do not consider Lisa just a friend who’s always down for a good time. She truly is a best friend. Through 13 years of crushes, relationship drama, career struggles, and life’s woes, I know I can always count on Lisa to be a listening ear, with sound advice (and stern call-outs when needed). That’s why I am beyond honored to stand by her side as she and Dakota become the most adventurous, volleyball playing, foodie, bourbon drinking, Disney fan, husband and wife duo there ever was!!

I got to know Dakota through volleyball. We have played a lot of ball together, against each other, on the court next to each other. Quickly, I started to realize that we had more than just a sport in common. We both liked similar games. Similar stories. Similar shows. Similar music. As time went on, I started to understand what a unique and wonderful guy Dakota really is. Then I met Lisa and saw the two of them together. I saw their passion for traveling, seeing the world, experiencing live music and food and making memories. Their enthusiasm for good games and good whiskey. And most of all, how happy they were by being a part of each other’s lives. Throughout the years, I’ve come to appreciate even more of the things that make Dakota great. His sense of humor, his kindness, and awesome shoe collection. But most of all, I’m grateful to have a friend who is marrying someone perfect for him. Congratulations Dakota and Lisa, love y’all 3000.

Usually, my main language is humor, but I decided to buckle down for Lisa and put my sappy pants on! Lisa and I have known each other for almost 15 years, with the start of our tale being middle school volleyball. From the outside looking in, you would never have pinned us to be lifelong friends – I mean, to this day, we have different personalities, mannerisms, viewpoints and interests. So what’s the secret?! It’s me, I’m amazing; however, since Lisa is the one getting married, I’ll give her the credit. Lisa sees you beyond the differences, and even similarities, and sees you for your heart and character. She makes you feel valued and actively shows you that you are family. She is your loyal friend, keeper of your secrets, fierce attorney, and your biggest fan. Lisa, I cannot wait to see you walk down the aisle and if you trip, I will laugh but Dakota will catch you.

I got the opportunity to meet Dakota at Buffalo Wild Wings. Here we talked and ended up talking about our love for nerd culture. We quickly became best friends bonding over comics, games and so much more. However, we didn't just bond through nerd things; we bonded over sports and our love for pole vaulting. We quickly became very close, spending time together on campus and hanging out whenever we could. I was always proud of him, and one of the best days was when I got to accept being his big brother in our fraternity. But an even better moment was seeing how happy he was with Lisa. Now here we are years later in our friendship, and I am so happy that I get to stand next to him at his wedding. I love both of you very much and wish only the best for both of you. Looking forward to more Denny’s trips with you two as a married couple!

Lisa and Jessica. A tale as old as...well 2014. We were already sorority sisters, but it was then that we became friends. Was it fate? Destiny? Nope! It was volleyball. Someone said, "hey, I know of someone who plays volleyball too, and I think y'all would get along." That was an understatement if I've ever heard one! Over the last seven years, we've traveled internationally, lived as roommates and been on countless adventures. It was a friendship that was meant to be. Our sense of humor, hard work ethic and goofiness made quite the pair. Honestly we should've had our own sitcom. I'm excited for this new adventure for Lisa and Dakota. Love you both!

Dakota was and always will be my very first best friend. I fondly remember being the only ones that stayed around at school long after all the other kids, waiting for our parents to finish up work at Silverlake Elementary. We wreaked havoc in halls; terrorizing adults who dared to find themselves in our path. He was the fast one, always escaping the assistant principal, Mrs. Lemon, with quick feet. I was the expert at scaring unsuspecting teachers. Together, we were the kings of mischief. Now, he’s found a new partner in crime, and I cannot wait to celebrate with them both. Congratulations, Dakota and Lisa!

Lisa and I met at - you guessed it - volleyball! I had been living in Texas for about a year when we got put on the same team. We clicked right away and have been inseparable ever since! One of the first times we hung out, I went over to Lisa's for a "movie night," but we ended up talking for hours, drinking wine and eating pizza. That's when I knew we were meant to be, and everyone now jokes that we should just marry each other! I was Lisa's doubles partner (still am!) on the day she met Dakota, and I remember thinking that they really are perfect for each other! Can't wait for this new chapter in your lives!

I met Dakota during my journey in engineering school. We met, not in a classroom nor at any Hall in the engineering program. Our journey began on the McNeese Rec floor where I saw Dakota with a few of his Theta Chi buddies. At first I thought all fraternities were guys that just wanted to party and drink all the time, but once meeting Dakota, that all changed. We built our friendship initially on Halo, volleyball, and engineering our own projects. Even though Dakota might be a 5-hour drive away now, that still has not stopped our friendship from staying strong. We still pick up just where we left off every time we reconnect. He has helped me through my good times and my bad, and earned every right to be declared one of my closest friends. I look forward to the adventures yet to come in this friendship! Congratulations Dakota and Lisa!

Meeting Lisa has been one of the best surprises in my life. Volleyball is where we said our first hello, but a Galentines party is where sparks flew! It’s like any traditional love story…but ours was better. We had forgotten that there were other ladies around because our conversation never seemed to end. I told a mutual friend after the party that I was completely obsessed with Lisa! I still am!! Although life has changed for each of us, we know that this ridiculous friendship will always remain. You are forever my gal, and I can’t wait for you newest adventure to begin! I’ve never met a couple more made for each other! Let’s get you down that aisle, Breaux!

What can I say? Dakota is my oldest friend. We did alot of silly nonsense like most siblings do when they are young, played Pokemon, watched YuGiOh, played a lot of gamecube together, ran around upstairs in the dark with bed sheets over our faces in some kind of twisted version of hide and seek where the hider tried to scare the blinded seeker… you know normal kid stuff. We are older now, and I can’t really run around for hours like I once could, and the physical distance between us has drastically increased, but he is still my brother and we talk almost weekly still playing games, still smiling, still laughing and being goofy. Congrats you two!

Hi, my name is Eleanor, and my mommy forced me into the hands of Lisa...now we aren't scared of each other, and she lets me do all the things my mommy won't. She's my aunt not by blood but by choice. I will love her and Uncle Dakota forever...as long as they give me sweets and teach me all the things about travel and brewery's. I can't wait to go down the aisle with you, Aunt Yeesah!

That's also where I met Lisa, I was shy at first around her but now I think she is the coolest! I'm so excited to bring you guys your rings at the end of the aisle!
