Disc Golf
The Lynchburg area is known for disc golf and has several great courses in the area (just ask Bill :))! Some of the local courses include Peaks View Park, Sandusky, Falling Creek (Bill's favorite), New London Tech (designed by 6x World Champion Paul McBeth), Independence Park, Camp Hydaway, and Moneta Park.
Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre

Zoom down Liberty Mountain with year-round snowboarding and skiing. Snowflex is a synthetic multilayered material that simulates the effects of snow. The mountain offers rental equipment, lessons, and multiple learning programs. If skiing and snowboarding is not your thing, then look to blast down one of our tubing runs, jump on our Olympic trampoline, or explore the 3,500 acre trail system that surrounds Liberty Mountain.

Downtown Lynchburg – Jefferson St. and 8th St.
A 3.5 mile trail using bridges originally created for the railroad. The trail crosses over onto Percival's Island, and then into Amherst County. A perfect path for walking, biking, jogging, fishing, and a beautiful riverfront view.

Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest

Just a short ten-minute drive to the west of Lynchburg, Poplar Forest is Thomas Jefferson’s secluded retreat, now a National Historic Landmark. A mature and innovative architectural masterpiece, Jefferson designed the octagonal house at Poplar Forest during his second term as President of the United States. Jefferson sojourned to Poplar Forest between the ages of 66-80 to rekindle his creativity, spend time with his grandchildren, and escape the crowds at Monticello. Poplar Forest offers tours and special events.
