Our Wedding

Lisa and Camron met through the online dating service, OKCupid. OKCupid&nbsp;suggests potential matches based on answers given to their (seemingly) endless questionnaire. Lisa was a light, casual user on OKCupid. Mostly window shopping, but never&nbsp;finding anyone&nbsp;really&nbsp;worth her&nbsp;while. Camron had&nbsp;no life outside of working, so he'd spend his free-time answering loads of questions and hoping to find someone above a 90% match. Lisa's profile popped up on Camron's&nbsp;"suggested matches"...at a whopping 94%! After Camron was able to overcome his disbelief and&nbsp;pick his jaw up off the floor, he began crafting his opening message. It had to be short, but not too short! And substantive, but not prying! And it needed to have some open-ended questions, but nothing vague!...Well, it took Camron about 48 hours to come up with,&nbsp;"Hi, I'm Camron.&nbsp;I came across your profile and you sound really interesting! Can you tell me more about what sort of law you're interested in studying?"&nbsp; Amazing, right?! Ok, maybe not...but Lisa responded! Thanks to the photo of him holding a "BaCON" sign. Success! Over the next couple of days, the two of them talked & texted. Slowly getting to know one another before Camron finally asked Lisa on a date. At approximately 6:00pm on&nbsp;August 8, 2014 outside of&nbsp;Open City Restaurant in NW, DC was the moment&nbsp;Camron met the woman who would become the&nbsp;love of his life. During the next 3.5 years they went&nbsp;on loads of adventures and road-trips, moved in together, and&nbsp;adopted the cutest puppy&nbsp;ever, Peanut!

How They Met

On Valentine’s Day of 2018, Lisa expressed her disappointment to Camron that they weren't engaged yet. Everything in their relationship had been going so well and they frequently talked about getting married, but Camron wasn't making any moves! What gives?!Unbeknownst to Lisa, Camron had already purchased an engagement ring weeks (months) before and strategically duct-taped it to the underside of the sofa where Lisa typically sits. During their conversation&nbsp;Camron feigned remorse for not being more proactive in advancing their relationship. He&nbsp;reassured Lisa that the topic was on his mind, but he was worried about making such a big commitment. In reality, Camron had already begun&nbsp;secretly planning Lisa's surprise engagement party that fell on her birthday weekend.&nbsp;On March 16, 2018, Camron gave Lisa her birthday gift: an itinerary outlining a romantic getaway&nbsp;to Virginia wine country. The&nbsp;trip&nbsp;included&nbsp;private tours and tastings at Lisa's three favorite wineries. But it was all a ruse!&nbsp; In reality Camron had spent months meticulously planning to gather all of Lisa's immediate family and some of her closest friends at her favorite winery, Fabbioli Cellars,&nbsp;for a surprise celebration. Camron layered his ruse further by&nbsp;telling&nbsp;Lisa's friends that it was only a surprise birthday party. Only&nbsp;Lisa and Camron's immediate families were privy to the truth behind the event. At 1:00pm on March 17th, 2018 Lisa's closest friends and family walked into the tasting room where the couple was waiting for the "private tour" to begin. Lisa's first reaction was confusion, exclaiming that one particular gentleman bore a striking resemblance to Camron's father. Upon further inspection she realized that nearly 20 people in the room looked awfully similar to all of her loved ones. It's safe to say, Lisa was certainly surprised!&nbsp; As the afternoon progressed Lisa was all smiles.&nbsp;Excited to have the chance to share her birthday with the people she loves. After enjoying cake and opening gifts, only one gift remained; a card from Camron...which he&nbsp;forgot at home in the drawer of his nightstand. Luckily, he had a digital backup on his phone!&nbsp;The card said:&nbsp; "Life is a story you write as you go.&nbsp; I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have you as my co-author these past few years. You support me when I struggle. You care for me when I’m sick or injured. You laugh with me (or at me) when I’m goofy. Not to mention, you’re like the best training partner ever! &nbsp; I wake up every day wondering what in the world I did to ever deserve someone as amazing as you in my life. But rather than question it, I thought I’d try my best to just show you how much I appreciate you. That’s why, over the past few months, I’ve been covertly organizing this party. I wanted you to be the center of attention in a room full of people who love you and care about you. Because that’s about the closest thing I could think of to describe the way you make me feel every single day.&nbsp; Now, I have two questions for you: 1) How did I do?"&nbsp; Through happy tears, Lisa told Camron that he did wonderfully. Then asked what the second question was... At that moment Camron dropped to one knee, presented the ring (which he did remember&nbsp;to bring!)&nbsp;and asked Lisa if she'd like to get married. YES!

Chris Goubeaux (a.k.a. "Gibbity Gobbs") and Cam have been since sophomore year in high school (when Cam was the weird new kid). Chris is a USMC combat veteran, adrenaline junkie, animal lover, and all around good dude. The number of schenanigans Chris and Camron got into while growing up are far too many to count, but luckily they've managed to get this far without setting themselves on fire (despite their best efforts). Chris is the brother Camron never had, and Camron is proud to have Chris standing next to him as his Best Man.

Taylor and Lisa have been best friends since 7th grade. Taylor has been there through all of the important parts of Lisa's life, including all of Lisa's boyfriends and hair changes, and has been one of Lisa's biggest cheerleaders (including when they both tried out for cheerleading in 9th grade...and failed). It's safe to say that Taylor is Lisa's family.

The first time Jordan and Lisa met, they kicked each other. They still do that to each other, even though Jordan doesn't come to the class they met in anymore. Lisa is a firm believer that good training partners can become great friends, and Jordan is certainly an example of that rule. Jordan pushes Lisa to be better everyday in every aspect of her life, and Lisa can only hope she does the same for Jordan. Side note: they are also both MexiJews!

Daniel is a young&nbsp;entrepreneur from Dallas, TX. Daniel and Camron's friendship is founded upon beating the snot out of each other while testing for their Krav Maga Black belts. When they're not punching each other in the face, Camron and Daniel pass time by discussing&nbsp;the finer points of different bourbons, beers, and barbecue.

Michael is a young&nbsp;entrepreneur from Memphis, TN. He is a technology enthusiast, elite Krav Maga instructor, and wonderful father. Camron and Michael's relationship also revolves around beating each other senseless during Krav Maga tests. But as the saying goes, "Iron sharpens iron"!

Lisa-squared became a thing just over a month after Camron and Lisa (S.) started dating. Lisa H. took her first Krav Maga class at Camron's gym, and it was love at first squat. Camron made the Lisas sprint and squat with the other Lisa on her back. The more they had to punch and kick each other, the more their love bloomed.

Teddy is an I.T. guru from Silver Spring, MD. When he's not working his magic on computers, he's in the gym training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and&nbsp;Muay Thai. Teddy and Camron have been training together&nbsp;for a long time and help prepare each other for competitions & tests.

Joanna and Lisa met in college baking Hillary Clinton's Christmas cookies in Willets basement during freshman year before leaving for winter break. Their remaining time in college, they enjoyed many weekends drinking, playing Apples to Apples, drinking, studying, drinking, and drinking. But in their two years together in Washington, DC, they met up at least three times per month, getting lunch at the Farragut Square food trucks and making each other dinner. Even though they are now separated by about 850 miles, Joanna and Lisa still try to talk at least once a month.

Aster and Lisa probably became friends playing beer pong in college. They shared lots of crazy times together, but also lots of cuddles and tears. Aster was there for some of Lisa's best times, but also her hardest times, and always supported Lisa. Aster is one of the most courageous people whom Lisa knows, and always pushed Lisa to challenge herself. Lisa can't wait to embrace her inner Tina Belcher with Aster on August 3, 2019!

When Lisa was in high school, her brother started dating Robin. And Eric is...very picky. So when Lisa met Robin at the Met early on in the relationship and saw the way Eric's heart melted, she knew Robin was the one. Ever since, Robin has been the big sister Lisa always wanted. Robin is caring, she is kind. She puts the needs of everyone else above her own. Robin is a truly special person, and Lisa is so grateful to have Robin in her life.&nbsp;

Eric is the&nbsp;brother of the Bride, a&nbsp;fellow car enthusiast to the Groom, and an all around amazing&nbsp;person. Eric sharp as a tack and fluent in sarcasm; everything Camron could wish for in a future brother-in-law.

It's safe to say that Anu was Lisa's first friend in DC (besides Cory), in addition to being her first roommate. The three of them lived in a tiny basement apartment and shared one bathroom, so it would've been a bad situation if they could not get along. The three of them would spend their weekends making roommate brunches and playing DnD with Cory as the dungeon master. Lisa is so ecstatic that Anu could take time from her travels to be here!

Ben and Lisa have been close friends since&nbsp;attending&nbsp;Swarthmore College together. So it wasn't long after Camron and Lisa started dating that Camron had the pleasure of meeting Ben. Ben is a kind and charismatic person and&nbsp;an amazing&nbsp;musician to boot!&nbsp;

Lisa met Aryana early on in the relationship. Aryana always went out of her way to help Lisa feel comfortable in the huuuuuuuuuge family gatherings and made Lisa feel like family early on. Lisa is so excited to have a little sister who will watch girly shows with her. YASSS QUEEN!

The Battle of Berryville, which took place towards the end of the Civil War, was fought on the site of the Historic Rosemont Manor. When Camron was a camp counselor, he used to take his campers to the Harpers Ferry Adventure Center and toss them into the water. You can relive his glory days in his honor by going tubing, ziplining, rafting, climbing, and/or camping!

Berryville, VA is a true small town, with a population of about 4,000 people. It offers a scenic getaway from the hustle of our daily lives and daily commutes.
