We are excited at the possibility of you being our guests for this momentous occasion.

Jake and I have been visiting the sweet town of Las Vegas, NM for years now. It's a wonderful place. We discovered the historic Castaneda Hotel last May and almost instantly thought it would be a great place to have a wedding party! All of the 20 rooms (each unique) at the Casteneda have been blocked for "Lisa and Jake's wedding party" for the night of June 1st. Guests receive a 10% discount, when they CALL TO BOOK A RESERVATION.

The hotel will try to accommodate early check-in for our guests on Saturday, but this cannot be guaranteed. If you are traveling from out of state and want to arrive the night (or two) before, the same discount will apply, however, the rooms are not blocked and reserved for those dates, so the sooner you book your reservations, the better! Any overflow of guests (if the Casteneda fills up) may stay at the Plaza Hotel (their sister property), 5 minutes away from the Casteneda. But again, additional nights are not blocked (only June 1st), so it is recommended you make reservations early.

The closest airport is Santa Fe, NM, about an hour drive from our destination. The next closest is Albuquerque (where Southwest flies to), about a 90 minute drive.

Our wedding ceremony – provided the weather agrees – is going to be held in the Dwan Light Sanctuary on the United World College campus, at 3pm, Saturday, June 1st.

A 10-minute drive from the Castenada Hotel, this is a beautifully sacred, magical space. The structure is only permitted to have 30 people in it at one time – no more. This means not all of our guests (unless only half of the invites come - which is a possibility) will be able to be inside for the actual ceremony. Family will come first. Younger children will be outside for the ceremony. The grounds are beautiful though and we are planning to make it special in unique ways for those who wish to be there with us and share in the wonder of the space and sounds from right outside the sanctuary. Everyone there will be able to see its wonder and be inside the magical space either before or after the ceremony. There just cannot be more than 30 persons inside at one time. This is a hard rule – not to be negotiated.

A backup weather plan will be in place which will also have its silver lining.

The wedding reception (dinner and dancing!) will be at the Trackside, at the Casteneda Hotel, following the ceremony. It will surely be an unforgettable party.
