General Stay & Accommodations
Where will we be staying?
Guests will be staying at the UAW Black Lake Conference Center, which offers several types of accommodations. Check out the 'Lodging' page for some room details or call to Reserve your Room and an Agent can help find which room is best for you!
Is there air conditioning?
The accommodations vary, but only the Old Lodge does not have air conditioning. You can ask the Agent when calling to reserve your room, to double check accommodations.
What amenities are available in the rooms?
Rooms are simple and comfortable but do not have luxury features. Expect basic furnishings, linens, and private bathrooms. Also, all rooms have a coffee maker, mini-fridge, coffee machine - double check when booking to verify the specific rooms accommodations.
Are there common areas for guests to gather?
Yes! Black Lake offers many shared spaces, including lounges, outdoor terraces, a fireplace area, a big-screen TV, and small meeting spaces with beautiful views of nature.
Will there be Wi-Fi and cell service?
Wi-Fi may be available in some areas, but cell service can be spotty due to the remote location. Plan accordingly if you need to stay connected.
Food & Drink
Are meals provided?
Meals are not included. The Golf Course restaurant is available for dining and there is a small Convenience Store on premise - both have limited hours so please verify before visiting. There are vending machines in the Main Lobby. Check out the 'Things To Do' page for some Restaurant Recommendations. Guests are encouraged to bring snacks and drinks!!
Is there a bar or alcohol available?
The venue does not have a bar open outside of the Event, so feel free to bring your own beverages to enjoy responsibly. As with the food, the Golf Course Clubhouse does have beverages, and the Convenience Store has a limited selection, when open.

What is there to do at Black Lake?
So many things!
Check out the 'Things To Do' page for ideas, but the options are endless! On Campus, the outdoor activities include golf, hiking, exploring the lake, and relaxing in nature. There are also some great indoor activities such as a heated pool, gymnasium, and fitness center. The Campus also has Bicycle and Kayaks for rent.
Can I explore the area on my own?
Absolutely! Outside of the Reception Celebration, we encourage guests to make the most of their time here and enjoy the surroundings! Check out the 'Things To Do' page for ideas.......Just don’t be late for the party!
What should I bring for outdoor activities?
Comfortable walking shoes, layers for changing weather, bug spray, bathing suit, sunblock, and anything else you’d want for a nature-filled weekend.
Don't forget your golf clubs if you want to hit the links!
Travel & Logistics
!!!!!!! IMPORTANT: Can I drive my vehicle into Black Lake?
Maybe..... The Black Lake Conference Center is owned and operated by the UAW. It is their policy
to allow only Union made/American made vehicles onsite. This only includes vehicles
that are Union made from the USA and Canada. If you have a vehicle at the gate that
does not fit this criteria, they have parking facilities just outside the entrance. To see if a
vehicle is American/union made, visit www.unionplus.org.
If you are a guest that is staying and has an import vehicle, you are only allowed to
come on center property for unloading your items for your stay and again only when you
are departing to load your vehicle for checkout. You are allotted 30 minutes to do this.

or check out.....
** There are on-campus shuttles available 24-hours a day **
How do I get to UAW Black Lake Conference Center?
The location is remote, so you'll likely need to drive. There are airports located close by, so make sure to look up which travel method works best for you.
What time should we arrive?
If you are staying two nights, arriving Friday will allow you an extra day to explore and relax. Plan to arrive with enough time to check in, settle in, and explore before the main celebration on Saturday @ 5pm. More details on timing are shared on the Home Page of the event.
What is the dress code?
Casual and comfortable! The setting is rustic and outdoorsy, so dress accordingly for the weather and activities.
