This is a 4.5-5 mile loop hike with about 900 ft of elevation gain. The parking lot is small and fills up very quickly on the weekends, but it's very close to Golden.
There are many different variations of hike you can do here, but we recommend going up Enchanted Forest trail because it's less steep. Be careful because some trails are directional-use trails (i.e. on odd days it's hikers only and on even days it's bikers only). Make sure you follow the directional-use rules!
This is a 5-mile loop hike with about 700 ft of elevation gain. This is a good foothills hike to do, if you're worried about feeling sick from the altitude!
Of course, you can catch a show, but the trails around the amphitheater are also very nice!
Starting at the west trail head is probably better, unless you want to climb 1,700 ft in 1.5 miles. As long as you start from the west trail head, this is a 3.6 mile loop with only 600 ft of elevation gain. There's a great view from an old fire tower near the top and an old house that burned down in 1918!
This is the best Nepalese restaurant ever. Be sure to call ahead and make a reservation as this is a very popular spot!
If you're like us and like Coors Banquets, or just want to tour a brewery, you can do a 1.5 hour guided tour with some samples at the end. Be sure to book your tour ahead although they do accept walk-ins first come, first served!
