Don's Place is an Irish Pub established in 1933 and run by the Kindreds for 40 years. Today, Kindred's daughter, Rachel Kessler, and Jimmy Ash own Don's and stick with the traditions. Every week they have a Saturday Cookout starting at 11:00 AM serving ribeye, chicken, pork chop & porkie burger sandwiches. Along with the sandwiches, they rotate between chili, gumbo & Irish Stew. Every day, they serve frozen pizzas and popcorn. Ask the bartender what they have available that day.

Our Town Books is a small, local independent bookstore in the beautiful, midwestern town of Jacksonville, Illinois. Founded in 2011 by Jim and Sally Nurss, Our Town Books has become a magical getaway established amid the numerous other eclectic shops that line the historical Jacksonville Downtown Square.

In 2018, Jessica Gale, a mother and booklover, purchased this little bit of magic and made her home in the Midwest. Jessica recently sold Our Town Books to Khristina Helmich, who is now the new owner!
