Liza and Ryan first met each other through the dating app Hinge in September of 2021. Ryan remembers seeing Liza's profile and hoping they would immediately match when he swiped right. Unfortunately, he had to wait a few days before Liza was presented with Ryan's profile. Once they did match, the couple began talking and both of them immediately knew this wasn't just another dating app match - this was something more.

A couple days later, they made plans to meet for the first time at Väsen Brewing Company. Ryan arrived 10-15 minutes before Liza arrived. Liza arrived 10-15 minutes past the time they agreed on. He remembers seeing her walking up the sidewalk and immediately texting his friend "she looks even more beautiful than her profile, which is awkward because I probably look worse than my profile". As soon as they started talking, everything felt natural. The conversation was easy and the laughter was flowing. Liza was in awe that he was 27 and owned a house- all of her close friends were renting apartments in The Fan. Even though they were basically strangers at this point, it felt like they had known each other for years. In an effort to ensure they saw more of each other after this date, Ryan tasked Liza with making a list of her favorite restaurants in Richmond for them to go to together seeing as Ryan was still newer to Richmond and had not explored all of the different staples around the area.

Ever since their first date, Liza and Ryan have been inseparable. Liza and Ryan are each other's favorite partner for football tailgates, JMU/VT games, concerts, NASCAR races, beach trips, at-home YouTube trivia nights, weddings, New Years getaways, and more. They have supported each other in the lows, and have enjoyed and celebrated the highs. They are always each other's first call, whether it's to talk about the round of golf Ryan just played, or for Liza to share the latest Jonas Brothers update. One of their favorite things to do as a couple has become cooking together at the end of each day. This time has become their favorite time to connect, check-in and catch up over trying a new recipe or re-making a favorite one.

They are both so excited to celebrate their big day with all of you with good food, music and laughs. We couldn't be the couple we are without you all as part of our story!
