It all started as a set up! Lucas was living with Holly and Jude at the time and Holly was getting to know Lizzy thanks to their mutual friend, Austyn. Holly drug Lucas out on the town and allowed Lizzy and Lucas to meet naturally without them knowing it was a set up. Lucas was enamored and asked her out on a date! They enjoyed each other's company and went mountain biking as a 2nd date. By their 3rd date, they were trying obnoxious skiing tricks at Winterplace!

Lizzy and Lucas continued to have so much fun together biking and exploring mountains. They learned they both enjoyed a long day of exercise followed by a hearty meal.

Lizzy, being a dedicated Virginia Tech fan/fanatic, rekindled Lucas' excitement for sports. The pair attended nearly every men's home basketball game that year.

The two enjoyed afternoons on the golf course, and spent many date nights playing tennis under the lights.

Lucas decided Lizzy was the one and proposed at one of their favorite spots, the New River.

It came full circle and the ones that introduced Lizzy and Lucas showed up moments after the proposal and enjoyed a day long celebration float on the New River!
