Swiping Right
In December 2019, after downloading Tinder for the first time, Rachel thought it would be fun to peruse the local eligibles. Logan was a match! He even went along with her profile asking to plan a trip to Europe, which remains a trip they hope to take one day.
The Start of Something New
Logan and Rachel began getting to know each other. Their relationship blossomed as they came up with date ideas and traditions that continue to this day. Rachel then embarked on a solo trip to Europe, discovering diverse food and culture. While she was having fun traveling, she realized she had found something truly special at home.
Navigating Love in a Pandemic
As the pandemic swept across the globe, their relationship faced unexpected challenges. With social distancing in place, they leaned into long text conversations, enjoyed a global array of takeout options, and went on TV dates. They explored their hopes and dreams for the future with the British Baking Show streaming in the background. When Logan was unable to travel home to Wisconsin, Rachel's parents hosted him for Easter celebrations (they thought he was a 'nice boy' :).
Weathering the Storm
Their bond continued to grow amidst the turmoil of Minneapolis and nationwide protests. Logan lived in Uptown Minneapolis at the time, and finding things to do outside of takeout and walks became harder. Despite this, their love only strengthened.
Traveling the Country Together
Logan was there when Rachel got the call that she was accepted into Campbell University's Physician Assistant program. He was committed. They found a place to live and drove to North Carolina on July 4, 2021. The next two years involved a lot of stress, tight budgeting, and heartbreak; it also had hope. Logan asked Rachel's parents for her hand and picked out a ring. Rachel graduated, was offered a job in Minnesota's eastern suburbs, and they decided it was time to move home.
Settling in Woodbury
Logan and Rachel found a place in Woodbury and were engaged November 4, 2023! It was a bummer of a deer opener for Rachel's family, but that was turned around quickly!
They soon brought home their yellow lab, 1-year-old Colby Jack, in February 2024.
