For 500 years, the city of Old San Juan has been enchanting its visitors with impressive fortifications, towering walls, open plazas, hidden patios, and cobblestone streets that will make you feel as if you've traveled back in time. Old San Juan is home to the San Juan National Historic Site, with buildings dating from the 16th century, including the San Felipe del Morro and San Cristóbal fortresses and the old city walls. The Bautista Cathedral houses the tomb of Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León. You can also visit the Museo de las Americas and stroll through the Paseo de la Princesa and the Santa Maria Magdalena Cemetery. Check out other things to do in Old San Juan here.

One of my favorite places ever! If you like nature, this forest is a must! El Yunque National Forest is the only tropical rain forest in the US national forest system and has some of the best views of the Island. It is considered a national treasure among locals due to its rich biodiversity, cultural importance and symbolism of resiliency. My favorite trails include El Toro Trail (inside the wilderness) Mount Britton Tower Trail and El Yunque Trail.
