Copacabana Palace, a Belmond Hotel (where L&C will be staying)

Please reach out to Lorenza directly +1 (203) 918-1112 for if you have any questions about how to book it.

If you would like to stay at an AirBnb or different hotel we encourage you to reach out to Lorenza or Colin to ensure it's in a safe location. Rio is a wonderful and vibrant place and like many other cities, there are unsafe neighborhoods. While something might appear close to the other hotels on a map it might not be a great area. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Vans to and from these 3 hotels will be provided to and from the ceremony / reception.

Visas

As of April 2025, American citizens need a visa to enter Brazil. In order to apply for a visa you need to show proof of roundtrip travel so be sure to book your flight before applying for the visa. We recommend applying for your visa at least 45 days before your travel date to allow ample processing time. If you have any questions please reach out to Lorenza or Colin.

You can obtain your visa here:

https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/

We do not recommend using other websites since they likely have false information.

Flights

We recommend booking your flights sooner rather than later since prices often significantly higher closer to the travel date.

Both US-based airlines and Latin-American airlines offer routes to Sao Paulo and Rio. You can find direct flights to Brazil with the following airlines:

US-Based: American Airlines, Delta, United

Latin-American: LATAM, Gol, Avianca

In addition to these airlines with direct flights to Brazil, Copa Airlines offers very inexpensive fares with a layover in Panama City.

Our family has flown on all these airlines and they are reputable and safe.

We recommend you fly into the two airports that serve Rio: Galeao Airport (GIG) and Santos Dumont Airport(SDU). Sao Paulo (Lorenza's hometown) is a common layover on the way to Rio, but please note that it is at least a five hour drive away from Rio so we do not recommend this as your final stop.

Many of you have shared that you plan on extending your trip and arriving early / leaving later so that you can explore more of Brazil or Latin America. If this is your plan, we recommend booking a roundtrip flight to Sao Paulo's international airport (GRU). They have easy direct flights all across the country and continent that you can easily book. As always, please let us know if you have any questions. Lorenza and Colin are pros at booking travel between the US / Europe and Brazil so they are happy to help in any way!
