Our story began like many others, on the giant campus of Texas Tech University. We first met through a campus ministry, Reformed University Fellowship, that met on Tuesday nights. We attended lunches and socials with our small group of freshman, looking to fit in. Throughout a month or so, we began to get to know each other better and talk more one on one. We ended up sitting outside our dorms one night, talking about everything from our testimonies of conversion to Christ to career paths and childhood stories, and that's when we knew we could be more than just friends. We started attending church together and began building a solid community, that we still rely on today! Then, RUF went on a fall retreat to New Mexico, where we had the opportunity to spend more time together and knew we were ready. Our first date was shortly after that, at Escondido Grill in Lubbock. We spent everyday together from then on, in between classes at the dining hall, drive in movies, study sessions, and more! Christmas came around and we toured each other's hometowns and met the families, and we knew God had brought us together for a reason. Fast forward through more classes and summer jobs, hard times and good, Lucas proposed on a beautiful December day right at the bench where we sat discussing our lives way back when. Through some laughter and tears, Taryn said yes! Our forever started that day! We cannot wait for many more stories and memories to be made.
