Like all great modern romances, ours began with a dating app. Jeff slid into Lucy’s Hinge messages with the unforgettable line: “Does Lucy also keep you up at night?” — referring to her cat, not realizing he hadn’t actually read her whole profile. Classic Jeff move.

Our first date was at the Neville Public Museum, which quickly turned into a downtown walking marathon (Jeff’s favorite activity). Lucy, however, had not been warned about the miles ahead and made some questionable footwear choices. Lesson learned: always ask Jeff for a mileage estimate before agreeing to “a quick walk.”

It didn’t take long for us to realize this was something special. We became inseparable, moved in together after a year, and immediately sparked a feline turf war. Jeff’s cat Batman declared Lucy’s cat the enemy, and eventually relocated to Minnesota with Jeff’s parents. (Huge shoutout to Ron and Mary for bravely fostering our little troublemaker!)

Fast forward to June 2025: Jeff had a grand proposal plan… which got completely rained out. After a day of suspicious behavior from Jeff and Morgan (our Matron of Honor), Jeff improvised at Cave Point County Park. With waves crashing dramatically behind us, he delivered the most romantic line of all time: “So, do you uh, wanna get married?”

And here we are — planning our big day(s), ready to celebrate with all of you!
