Our Story
Once upon a time in the digital age, Saakshi & Luke's love story began with a swipe right on a dating app. The universe had been playfully intertwining their paths for quite some time, but it was a captivating profile filled with dad jokes, adorable pictures with puppies, and a girl's night-in that finally brought them face-to-face.
Their relationship flourished under normal circumstances for a short while, but then the ultimate test came in the form of the coronavirus lockdown. In the face of physical separation, they relied on Facetime calls and drive-bys to stay connected. However, their tenacious personalities and unwavering love for each other only brought them closer together during those challenging times.
As busy professionals who value time above all else, every moment they spent together became incredibly precious. They eventually introduced each other to their friends and family, and the bond between Saakshi and Luke was apparent.
At a McQueen family brunch attended by Luke’s Mom and Dad, Mary and Charles, his sister Katie, cousin Jaime, and cousin Jen, all met Saakshi and were immediately enchanted. Luke remembers the flurry of texts he received afterward. The consensus: Luke, don’t screw this up.
Another memorable moment was when Saakshi's Amma, Seema, traveled all the way from India to meet Luke. During her visit, she subtly interviewed Luke, leaving no doubt that she wanted the best for her daughter. She also made sure to leave behind a treasure trove of home-cooked meals for Saakshi, so she could savor her mom's cooking for months to come.
In March 2022, Luke and Saakshi flew to India to introduce Luke to Saakshi’s Nannan, Savita, and to honor her recently passed Ajit Nanaji. The occasion was marked by a very intimate engagement ceremony, making their commitment officially official.
Now, they are thrilled to have you join them in celebrating their wedding in the beautiful paradise of Cancun in November 2024. As their story continues to unfold, you are an integral part of it from now on. And here's a delightful update: They are now raising a wiggly and adorable puppy together, adding even more joy to their lives.
