Lyda Grace and Calvin’s story began all the way back in 6th grade, when they first met in middle school. It wasn’t until high school, with a little help from a mutual friend, that they realized there might be something more between them. After a few hangouts, countless golf cart rides to each other’s houses, and hallway meetups between classes, they officially started dating on May 2, 2017—just fifteen years old and at the start of something special.

Through high school sweethearts turned long-distance college years—Lyda Grace at Auburn and Calvin at Georgia—they made countless memories visiting one another and growing together. After graduating in May 2024, they finally found themselves back home in Atlanta, only five minutes apart.

To celebrate eight years together (to the day) , Calvin surprised Lyda Grace with her dream trip to New York City, where he proposed in Central Park before a magical anniversary dinner at Tavern on the Green. From a spontaneous carriage ride to a stop at The Plaza, it was a night that felt straight out of a dream.
