Cool down with a cup of Dondoli, a famous gelato shop in the beautiful town of San Gimignano. Dondoli has received many gelato world championship awards, and there tons of flavors to choose from, including unique flavors such as:
Crema di Santa Fina (cream with local saffron and pine nuts)
Blackberry lavender
Italian garden (basil, cheesecake, strawberry and tomato sauces, crumble)
Vernaccia sorbet (Vernaccia is the local white wine)
Raspberry and rosemary
Gorgonzola and walnut
This town became a Williams family favorite, when Lyda Grace's sister, Emma studied abroad in Italy for three months. Ashley & Michael fell in love with everything Lucca had to offer & Michael also discovered his love for Italian red wine here.
It’s far less touristy than Florence, Siena and Pisa but has such a lot to offer. Be sure to visit Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, a huge circular piazza that was once a Roman amphitheatre and climb Torre Guinigi to enjoy the views and the trees at the top! Wander down the narrow streets & check out the lovely boutiques and stopping for focaccia, gelato or whatever else takes your fancy at every corner.
