We met briefly during our studies at Bob Jones University. But we didn't get to know each other until Lydia began attending University Baptist Church while she was studying at Clemson. We interacted most at the home of some mutual friends.

As of December 27, 2025, we have been to 50 unique waterfalls together (some more than once)—and we plan to discover more soon.

Lee Falls, Sid's Falls, and Glen Falls are some of the prettiest falls we've visited. Rainbow Falls is one of the most impressive waterfalls in South Carolina. But some of our best memories (from our first serious walk-and-talk to our engagement) come from Meadow Falls.

Shortly before our second first date, Hurricane Helene rolled through the Carolinas. While upstate SC was spared the devastation that occurred farther north, the storm did topple many trees. We spent most of that date—and bits of most dates since then—climbing over or under logs. Now hiking a smooth, unobstructed trail feels like cheating.

Adam left our first date excited for the future of the relationship. Lydia, however, took a few months to warm up to the idea. With almost six months between our first and second dates, the second date was when we really kicked off our relationship.
