We would love for you to stay close and for things to feel easy. Salmo is a small, rustic little guy, and the 5-star accommodations around us are slim (non-existent). We might have to get creative.

There’s plenty of space to camp by the creek below our house, or options to park and pitch with our some neighbors/friends. If camping’s not your thing, we’ve also scouted out a handful of Airbnbs and motels nearby—some better than others, but all an adventure in their own way. The goal: maximum fun, minimum stress.

Nelson is Salmo's mom. It is chock-full of beautiful places to stay, eat at, explore and play. It is 30 minutes away, but it is a beautiful drive. If you are coming for a few extra days or maybe packing up and relocating here for good ;) -- Nelson is a great place to spend some time.

Ymir is 15 minutes away from Salmo, on the way to Nelson. It is super small and colourful and wacky- in the best way (read: there is a local guy who does everything with a parrakeet on his shoulder). There are a few Airbnb options in the area and the historic Ymir Hotel is renowned for its wild art collection and bluegrass nights.
