Our Wedding

Our story began at Michigan Tech, where we met and instantly knew we were destined for something extraordinary—something that would make our hearts soar and our laughter echo through the hills. Our first date took us to the tip of the Keweenaw, High Rock Bay, where we hiked through winding trails, hand in hand, our souls dancing to the rhythm of nature's symphony. It was on that very hike that we discovered a shared love for the great outdoors and a mutual appreciation for life's simple pleasures (and pasties). But our adventures didn't stop there! In every season, we found new avenues for joy and exploration. Whether it was skiing down powdery slopes or setting up camp beneath a blanket of stars, we reveled in the magic of our shared experiences. Our adventures took us far and wide, from the rugged beauty of Alaska to the serene landscapes of Michigan. It was in front of the majestic Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau that Jacob, with nature as our witness, dropped to one knee and asked MacKenzie to be his adventure partner for life. Overwhelmed with joy, MacKenzie couldn't help but exclaim a resounding "Yes!" knowing that our journey together would be filled with endless love and laughter. And now, dear friends and cherished loved ones, we invite you to join us in celebrating our extraordinary journey. Together, let us raise a toast to the laughter, the love, and the many more adventures that await us. As we weave our lives together, may our spirits soar higher, our laughter ring louder, and our hearts grow fonder with each passing day. The diamond of the UPs rough. A true yooper and an even truer friend. Sophie and MacKenzie first met at Michigan Tech in Bible Study and they've been road tripping, backpacking and skiing together ever since.

He's been by Jacob's side while sharing a room (and sometimes bed) for 16 year.

Emma and MacKenzie met during their first summer interning at Yanfeng. MacKenzie saw Emma longboarding in the parking lot of their apartment building and they've been best friends ever since.

Katri was introduced to our favorite duo when she started dating Zach at Michigan Tech. An avid skier and soccer player, her knees are newer than both Nana and Cousin Chris's! Ever since, she's been the best camping and mountain biking buddy. Be sure to ask her about her cobbler recipe.

He's a Jeep man and a true cheese head... and we love him in spite of it. Zach lived with Jacob and the rest of the 410 gang.. if you know you know, just don't tell Grandma. Also known as Katri's lesser half, he is still working to keep up with her on the trials.

Looking for breakfast, check out Deboer's, a classic Dutch eatery with two locations. Enjoy Jacob's favorite, the Custard Dipped French Toast and other classic breakfast plates on the North Side. Walk through a pickle barrel and bring your beach chair and pack a picnic, it's time for some downtown Holland fireworks. Recommended parking downtown Holland at the civic center, or grab dinner at Boatwerks and watch from their outdoor patio (reservations recommended)

July 4th Kollen Park - Fireworks

The popular Street Performer Series returns to Downtown Holland every Thursday night this summer! The 2024&nbsp;Series will take place Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm from June 13&nbsp;through August 15. During the Street Performer Series, the entire community is invited to enjoy the sights and sounds of 30 different artists and groups while they perform free for the public throughout Downtown Holland!&nbsp;From musicians and break dancers to caricature artists, balloon twisters, jugglers, face painters, and more...you'll find every performance art imaginable in Downtown Holland during the Street Performer Series! The Series is entirely free to attend, but tipping the performers is highly encouraged.And as part of the Downtown Holland Social District, patrons ages 21+ can now enjoy an adult beverage while strolling down 8th Street during the event.The 2024&nbsp;Street Performer Series is proudly sponsored by Gentex Corporation. Calling all colors, florals, prints and pastels! Dress in your best garden party fits! We'll love you in whatever you decide to wear, but if you need a little inspiration, here's the vibe. Dress code is cocktail semi-formal attire. July will be warm, we recommend lighter fabrics. Dancing shoes required, everything else is a mere suggestion :)
