This love story starts off with a girl, Mackenzie, who had given up on online dating. Luckily for Mackenzie, she had her own personal match maker, Laura Wetmore, who had the perfect match for her. That match was Laura’s friend “The Hunk” Brandon Fuller. With Mackenzie in San Diego and Brandon in Orange County, these two would meet halfway in Carlsbad for many of their initial dates. After a few months, these casual dates changed into something more serious after Brandon planned a little surprise. Knowing that Mackenzie would be vacationing in Newport, he waited until he knew she would be out with her family, who had planned to Celebrate the completion of her Masters program. Having not yet been introduced to the Grimmer clan, Brandon planned his surprise from afar. Using his Newport connections he arranged for the bouncer “Bubba” at Beach Ball Bar to give her the 3rd degree when checking her ID. Once inside she was greeted by the bartender with a chilled celebratory shot of Tequila which wooed not only Mackenzie but her father Kevin, marking the beginning of something more serious to come.
