A Tale As Old As Time: High School Sweethearts

Bobby and Mackenzie met back in 2010 when they both began their high school journey at Cardinal O'Hara High School. As Freshman they met through mutual friends and started hanging out in the same group of friends every weekend. It wasn't until Junior Year when their feelings for one another started to change... As Mackenzie was growing up and dealing with heartbreak and drama as every teenage girl does in her life, her mom told her, “Find someone who wants to hear you talk about horses and cares about your passion.” When Mackenzie realized that Bobby was someone who did that, she decided to listen to her mother for a change and take matters into her own hands and start pursuing Bobby. On New Years Eve of 2013, Mackenzie prepared for what she thought was going to be a romantic first kiss with Bobby, only to be shocked when Bobby leaned in to kiss her and then faked her out! Using her anger to fuel her courage, Mackenzie walked right up to Bobby and told him she would have actually kissed him. Shock, regret, and happiness all flashed across Bobby's face in that instant.Bobby hadn’t realized that Mackenzie was actually interested in him at the time, which is why he did not actually go in for the kiss at midnight. Even though it didn't happen exactly at midnight, Mackenzie and Bobby did share their first kiss that night and from there the rest is history! Mackenzie and Bobby finished out high school together and then went off to college. Bobby attended Temple University and Mackenzie went to West Chester University. While it may have been tough at times, they defied the odds and made their relationship work from a distance. If anything, it made their relationship stronger! Mackenzie and Bobby alternated going to visit each other on the weekends and they both quickly became friends with each others friends on campus. Rather than worrying about just have their own college experiences, they got to be a part of each other's! Mackenzie continued to pursue her equestrian passions throughout college and Bobby found his calling of helping others by becoming a nurse. When the time was right, Bobby and Mackenzie decided to take the next step and move in together. They have lived in an apartment in the West Chester Borough going on two years now! They love walking into town and having friends over. Bobby and Mackenzie also love going on hikes, exploring new places, going to new breweries/wineries, and being able to enjoy a lazy sunday!

The Proposal

On October 10th, 2020, Bobby woke up early and "left for work" while Mackenzie went riding on a gorgeous fall day! After her ride her family asked if she wanted to meet at a local park for a "socially distanced" hangout. Mackenzie met her family at Rose Tree Park and they decided to take a walk along the trail. As they rounded the corner Bobby was waiting there with the ring in his hand. They hugged each other at first, both shaking knowing what was about to happen, and then Bobby got down on one knee on "horse shoe trail" surrounded by both of their families, and asked Mackenzie to spend the rest of her life with him. Although Mackenzie was crying, she managed to shake her head yes and the celebrations began!

RennieorKnot here comes the wedding! Mackenzie and Bobby are getting married on 9/3/2021 at Radnor Hunt in Malvern, Pa. Mackenzie and Bobby chose this location because they loved the elegance of this venue, while also providing the most gorgeous views of the Chester County countryside. It was also a huge bonus for Mackenzie that this facility also has a barn (a horse or two may be making an appearance so stay tuned!). Mackenzie and Bobby are planning the wedding of their dreams and hope everyone has an amazing time when the day arrives! RennieorKnot, Mackenzie and Bobby are getting married!

Transportation will be provided for guests staying at the hotel! We will have a shuttle going from the hotel to the venue before the ceremony starts. Transportation will also be provided for guests at the end of the night. We will be making stops at the hotel and after party!

Things to Do

Holly is Mac's older sister. Even though there is an 8 year age difference between the two, Holly and Mac have become very close over the years and Mac considers her to not only be a sister but a best friend! Holly has always been there for Mac whether it is for a good laugh or for some sisterly advice. Mac knows she can call or text Holly at any time and she will be there for her. Mac can't imagine  anyone else as taking on the role as one of her MOHs!

Julia and Mac met through their mutual love of horseback riding when they were about 12 and 13! Julia invited Mac on a trip to the Poconos one summer and once they discovered their mutual love for pickles, they became instant best friends! Mac and Julia have remained best friends over the years and have so many good times together. Mac is honored to have Julia stand up there  with her as one of her MOHs!

Joey is also one of Mac's older sisters! Joey is always there to offer her opinion and help when Mac needs it. When Mac was little Joey taught her how to have "sass" and it has stuck with her as she grew up! Mac has loved watching Joey turn into an amazing wife and mom of two kids and Mac is honored to have Joey up there with her on her big day!

Erin and Mac met on the very first day of high school. They were chatting and discovered they had the same lunch period and agreed to sit with one another. They became instant best friends and have had many  starbucks dates, shopping trips, chick flick nights, margarita/wine nights, and so many more fun times and adventures together throughout the years! Erin is always there for Mac whether it be a show recommendation, outfit choices, or serious advice and Mac is so excited to have Erin be a part of her big day!

Caroline met Mac in college when Mac transferred to West Chester University the second semester of Freshman year. They became great friends right off the bat and then lived with each other the following years! Mac and Caroline had so many fun and unforgettable times together in college and the good times have only continued post college! Mac is thrilled Caroline is going to be standing by her side on her big day!

Claire and Mac met in their Freshman year French Class and became closer friends sophomore year through mutual friends. Claire is Mac's "Blonde partner in crime" as the two of them have had many fun times together and even get their hair done together! Claire became on of Mac's best friends in high school and also went to West Chester with her. Claire is always there for her when she needs advice or a good gossip session and Mac is so excited to have her as a bridesmaid!

Christine is Mac's older sister! Mac got to be a bridesmaid in Christine's wedding almost 10 years ago and now she can't wait to have Christine by her side during her big day! Mac has loved growing up with Christine as her big sister and watching Christine become an amazing Mom to her four children!

Delanie is Bobby's younger sister and Mac has loved getting to know her over the years! Delanie and Mac have had so many good times together already and Mac can't wait to have her by her side during the big day and to be able to officially call her her sister!
