For those of you who don't already know, Austin and MacKenzie have known each other since 7th grade. Crazy, right?? He was the guy who sat behind MacKenzie in high school band class that would "pick on her" (flirt with her, let's be real) or they would be hanging out with each other at the hours long drama rehearsals they shared together ever since middle school. They were great friends and share so many childhood memories with each other.

Fast forward about three years, Austin is in college for wind energy and MacKenzie is just starting culinary school. They still shared the same friend group and started to see each other more often than just on school break. They started to build a great foundation of friendship that turned into them doing absolutely everything together. They always would be traveling back and forth to hang out with each other. They were best friends who enjoyed going to EDM shows together, hiking on trails together, and watching their comfort show, The Office, together. But if someone asked if they were dating or liked each other? "Oh nooooo never. I don't see them that way. You're crazy." Well....that definitely was 100% not true and eventually, their feelings blossomed more and more, wondering if the other felt the same. And after about two months of denying their true feelings for each other, they decided to make the jump and go from best friends to boyfriend and girlfriend.

Best decision ever.

Austin and MacKenzie spent the next 7 years of their relationship filled with everything that life throws at you. A year of the relationship long-distant, music festivals, moving in together in a different state, road trips, family deaths, and a pandemic. But what stayed consistent in this time was the love Austin and MacKenzie shared. Their love is powerful enough to get through the hardest battles because its filled to the brim with empathy, joy, compassion, and trust. It's a unique kind of love that not many people get to experience in this lifetime. A love built on the strongest foundation.

On April 4th 2023, Austin proposed to MacKenzie in beautiful Thailand after an incredible two week trip together in paradise. They are absolutely thrilled to be getting married in the place that they spent their first trip together when they first started to date, Door County. Door County holds such a special place in their hearts and they hope it will feel the same for you too.
